Will the wedding police arrest you? No. However, the gifts are a thank you for your bridal party because they spent time and money on standing up with you at your wedding.

Agree with Hannah. They don't have to be expensive, but should be thoughtful and include a handwritten note.

I think you should always get them at least something to say thank you for spending the time and money especially on you (their dresses, off days of work, etc.) Like a bottle of wine or a cute card with a neclace.

If your wedding party is helping you plan your wedding, including throwing you a bridal shower and/or bachelorette party, it would be nice to give them a gift as a thank you. It does not have to be expensive.

I’m planning on getting my wedding group small necklaces with a hand written note! Something cheap, sweet, and pretty! My FH is planning on giving his groomsmen can coozies!

You just need to thank them in some way. Some women just do a very thoughtful note and a gift card.

Is it necessary? No. I bought mine a few small, practical gifts because they have done so much though (comfy slipper shoes for the reception, a reusable travel cup, matching bracelets and a get ready robe). 2 of my bridesmaids are traveling a long way, and one has been my rock through everything. My FH got the groomsmen utility wristbands (has a screwdriver, bottle opener, etc).

If your budget is the reason, you could always do a girls night before the wedding (I'm having one where I'm doing their nails and we are watch movies). A few face masks, fun movies, and just have a relaxing time. Smiley smile Happy planning. 🍀

I think so. The wedding party does SO much for the bride & groom, they spend a lot of money & time on them, they should be thanked with gifts.

I personally feel that gifts are mandatory. It doesn't even have to be something that big, maybe a gift card!
