Hi everyone!

I'm posting because as my wedding gets closer and closer, I'm starting to freak out about my skin more and more. I know it can take months to treat skin, so I'm really needing some help with this one!

I've never deal with acne growing up or even in high school. It's been an issue the past few years now. But I've always been really insecure.

Currently I just use a Clean and Clear face wash with salicylic acid. I don't sleep with make up on. I wash my face after working out - even if I only can use water.

My skin is not dry nor oily. But I get red blemishes and gross acne breakouts. The red blemishes also get inflamed sometimes. And it hurts.

I'm attaching pictures to give more of a visual. Luckily it's not as bad this week for some odd reason.

Another thing not seen in the pictures are bumps all across my forehead. They are a lot more visible with foundation on.

Please let me know what all works for you guys!

You are very pretty!!! I would get really really bad cystic acne on my chin, the only thing that fixed it was a face wash called "c-booth". I randomly found it on sale at ulta and tried it, and it worked! It's about 16 bucks a bottle on amazon. I used that for years and it was amazing!!

Now, I use Clinique. I would go to a Clinique counter and have them match you with what you need. I'm allergic to benzoyl peroxide so I only use salicylic acid, so cliniques Acne line doesn't work for me, I also know their lotion makes me break out like NO other. I use their face soap, spot treatment, and their all over clearing treatment. I highly highly recommend all three!

I also use a clairosonic face brush, which is expensive and I asked my FH very nicely for it for Christmas Smiley smile lol. I don't use it every day, but it's nice to have! I definitely think that has helped my skin too, I rarely have acne and it's made my overall skin tone the same. But my holy grail is Clinique!!!

ETA- also apply moisturizer to your face before you apply makeup. Maybe it's your makeup that causes breakouts or your brush? If I use a certain powder brush on my chin, I'll break out. So keep your brushes clean too!!

I never had acne until my late 20's. Getting regular facials and exfoliating my skin cleared mine up. If you're not exfoliating/ your pores are clogged, the product may not even be able to penetrate deep into your pores.

I used Murad acne control system to treat my acne. Proactiv and Clinique were too harsh and removed all the moisture in my skin. Now that I've found a routine that works for me, I only use the Murad Clarifying Cleanser when my skin gets oily in the summer or when I see blemishes poppin up.

My routine is: Clarisonic skin brush/ Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel/ Dermalogica Multi active toner/ SPF moisturizer (day) or overnight moisture; and 1-2 per week : Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant >>

ETA: I saw an aesthetician for my facials and she did the Dermalogica skin analysis on me to determine what products would be good for me, and she also had me try Murad which is why I now use a combination of both.

Besides seeing a dermatologist I've found that I break out constantly if I touch my face a lot or take Biotin in any form. Drinking water helps A LOT but also using a gentle wash can help if you have more sensitive skin. Also you diet plays a huge role in it. I've recently changed my diet and found I do not break out as much but have been because I rest my chin in my hand and I've been breaking out. See what OC stuff works and see a doctor as well (:

About a month ago, my face broke out and I've never had a problem with acne either. I finally went to the doctors because it wasn't clearing up and it was exactly 2 weeks from my wedding. They prescribed an antibiotic "Adoxa" and a topical ointment "Epiduo". Fast forward to a week later and my face is completely cleared up. I am so happy it worked. I use cetaphil gentle cleanser to wash my face daily and moisturize before applying the topical ointment at night. It really works!!! Good luck.

I've heard great things about muddy body products. Check them out on instagram or their website. Up your probiotics, eat lots of juicy fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water. And if you are really worried there are great makeup brand that'll cover that right up!! I have horrible scarred skin from my dad and acne in my late 20s from my mother, but with maybelline fit me dewy and smooth and instagram makeup tutorials galour, no one is none the wiser!

OP- After looking more closely at your photos, your breakouts look more bacterial than hormonal, with clogged pores and surface inflammation than cystic. While waiting for an appointment with a derm (which you 100% should do), another recommendation I would suggest is again, discontinuing use of the Clean & Clear salicylic cleanser, but looking into a spot treatment that contains benzoyl peroxide contains antibacterial properties which might help clear some of the breakouts up. Beware it is drying, so use it only at night to see how it works for you.

Hi! Since I have only read two comments that pertained to diet I thought I would chime in. Diet plays a huge role in skin health. I would recommend eating less refined sugar more while grains and fruits and vegetables! This didn't just change my skin it actually changed my life!!

Hello, all of you with mild skin issues need to fix your skin at the core in order for it to stay calm and be more resilient. Stop using all those chemicals and repair your skins barrier and your skin will resolve itself. Try a topical Vitamin B3 (Niacinamide). Here is an article you can educate yourself with first. https://www.thebeautyissue.com/niacinamide-8-reasons-must-beauty-regime/

You can get it off Amazon and it's inexpensive.

    Good luck!

Along with my Clarisonic, I use the, "Ormedic balancing facial cleanser" by a company called, Image.

They've got a ton of different products including ones for acne.

I get my Image beauty supplies from my esthetician.

I’ve tried every product imaginable to clear up my acne; I have very sensitive skin. I even get acne due to humidity and when I tell you out off neutrogena proactive even cetaphil, only DermalMD Acne Serum worked the best for me to clear away the acne I was struggling with for YEARS. At first I really didn’t believe this product would work because of how very sensitive my skin is, but I was really surprised at how well it works. I’ve really become obsessed with the DermalMD brand in a way because so far, their the only one that agrees with my skin and for my skin.

I am in my late 20s, I’ve been suffering from cystic acne since high school. I’ve gotten my acne somewhat under control, but frequently breakout with 2-3 HUGE cystic pimples that end up staying for weeks, & inevitably leave either a scar, or hyper-pigmentation at the least. I started using Dermal MD anti-acne serum it really helped me with my acne

Silk pillow case (silk doesn’t hold oils that clog pores), hydrate hydrate hydrate, moisturize, get yourself the staples for a morning (cleanser, vitamin C serum, under eye cream, moisturizer, Sun screen) and night (cleanser, retinal, under eye cream, moisturizer) routine.
