Acrylic nails

Katie, on October 16, 2019 at 5:49 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 20
I want to get acrylic nail for the wedding since my nails consistently break and are gross looking. How long before the wedding is a good time to get them done?

A day or two before the wedding. Any longer than that, and you run the risk of them breaking, or growing out so much that it's noticeable.

I went 3 days before and got them done with the dip powder. It’s just as strong as acrylic, but made from vitamins and minerals, so it’s good for your nails!

Hi!! I would definitely suggest 1-2 days out. You can even go a week out. However, it also depends on how fast your nails grow and depending on the nail polish. I’m a gel girl and gel is meant to last through the worst of the worst. So, I’d suggest going maybe the day before and getting your nails done. It’s a treat to yourself.

I think two days before is good, so you can get used to the feel of them!

I'm doing destination and don't want to chance a nail salon messing em up there. Getting mine done 5 days before. The dip powder is amazing and lasts me 3 weeks when I get my nails done.

I say 3 days, if your nails are not used to acrylic they can feel super weird the first two days.

I think you could do up to a week if you are doing the gel powder with color all the way through. If they are airbrushing color, I would do 1-2 days before.

If you don't typically get acrylics, I would actually recommend going like two and half weeks before your wedding, for you to get used to them as well as to make sure you like the salon, shape and color. I know that's a bit more money, but helps you feel more comfortable before the wedding (especially with getting things ready!)

I’d go 1-2 days prior. I agree with other posters about getting dip powder instead of gel. It’s much better for your nails and it doesn’t have the weird feel of acrylic nails.

I'd say 2-3 days before. My nails are always SUPER sore after getting acrylics put on. Depending on how long you're wanting them, I'd recommend doing shellac. They look a lot more natural.

'Dip' nails is where they dip your fingernail in powder instead of using acrylic or gel nail polish. It is better for your nails and most salons have a huge selection of dip colors. Play around with it. Shop a few different salons and check their color selection and see if you like the job they do a month or two out from your wedding so you'll know where to go! Once you find the salon you like see if they will let you make an appointment for a day or two before your wedding. Good luck! Smiley smile

I would recommend the day before if possible, if not maybe 2 days before. You want your nails to look fresh and be nice and neat for the wedding! I do recommend you give SNS (aka powder or dip) a try! they feel like acrylic in that they're thicker than gel, but it's on top of your own nail, although they can do tips if you want. They do have french as well!

A day or 2 before; they will still look fresh and new and if you're new to acrylic it'll give you a day or 2 to get used to it if you get long nails for example

I got mine done Thursday before our Saturday wedding, and it worked out great. I'd make sure you are going to a good nail salon & the right nail tech, to make sure they don't break.
