Acrylic seating chart diy - wedding photos of finished product!

FutureStephD, on April 26, 2019 at 11:06 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 6 38

Hi all,

I wanted to share my favorite DIY from our wedding – our acrylic seating chart!

This was placed on a large butlers station at our venue during cocktail hour, with floating candles and greenery behind it. I clearly loved it!

Here’s the inspo pic:

And here’s some pics of my DIY in action:

How I did it:

Since we had 150 people and twelve tables (with 10-20 people depending on the table) I ordered guest names alphabetically. To do this I typed names in Microsoft word, and put them in alphabetical order. Since the acrylic sheets were 12x12 I knew I would use one printed sheet of paper for each acrylic sheet. It’s not challenging, we just had a TON of H’s since MILs maiden name started with an H, and my last name/ dad’s last name was an H, so I had to figure out where to cut off and start a new page. After printing the names I placed the acrylic on top of each printed paper, and traced away with a white paint pen. It was SUPER easy! The stands I purchased from etsy.

Side note, you can test the ability to remove the paint pen by using nail polish remover in a small corner. We had an incident where someone forgot their dates name and we had to change it. I actually found this funny. How??? Hah.

Cost

Acrylic for names – $54.38

Acrylic for ‘your seat awaits’ - $7.99

White paint pen – I had one laying around, but probably a few dollars at Michael’s or JoAnn’s

Wood stands – $18

TOTAL: $80.37

As seen elsewhere: $200

That definitely looks great! What a great way of cutting costs!

I've considered something like that but decided to go more playful. I found an idea on Pinterest that we'll be doing for sure, lol. But both of our families are huge drinkers so it fits.

Haaa... Love it!!! I’m planning on having hotel staff tray pass a signature drink immediately after we walk back down the aisle, before guests made their way over to happy hour (just to get the party “feel” started). But shots are a whole other level 😄 👍🏽

They should have been linked, but I don't think they went through :/

    Here you go:

wooden stands: https://www.etsy.com/listing/586613496/wooden-stands-for-acrylic-wooden-stands?ref=shop_home_active_47&frs=1 (I told the seller what I was doing and they made me a custom listing and knew what size I needed. Excellent to work with!) If we could figure it out I would totally sell mine to someone.

Smaller your seat awaits acrylic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078JWRWWB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    larger acrylic for names: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072LNRV9V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
