Adding a bridesmaid

Hayley, on March 17, 2022 at 2:50 PM Posted in Planning 0 6

I got engaged to my partner in 2018 and asked my 2 best friends to be my bridesmaids. We were originally getting married May 2021 but due to covid are now getting married this June. Since we got engaged in 2018 I have reconnected with a best friend from high school and now class her as one of my best friends. Is it too late to ask her also to be a bridesmaid? We both live abroad so have not had a chance to see each other in person in 2.5 years due to the pandemic but will be reuniting in April for my bachelorette.

Would love some advice!

Thanks!

I think with your wedding being only 3 months away, it would be really difficult for her to get a dress in time. You could maybe have her do a reading in your ceremony, or still invite her to come get ready with you the morning of? Also, if she's as close as you say she is, she will definitely understand the fact that you picked your 'maids ages ago but would pick her now if you could!

Thank you! I love the idea of asking her to do a reading or something! Smiley smile I bought my bridesmaid dresses so there wouldn't be the stress of her trying to find a dress but may be for getting her alterations etc. She is staying in the same villa as the bridal party so also will be involved in the wedding morning so hopefully that will also make her feel special!

Thank you for your help Smiley smile

I definitely think including her the morning of will go a long way! And if you're having a bridal luncheon/brunch or anything have her come to that as well!

If you're able to get a dress for her in time, I don't think it's too late to ask her to join the wedding party. Otherwise, I think the suggestions above are great ones that would still make her feel part of your special day.

I think as long as she can get the dress in time, I don’t see a problem and asking her to be a bridesmaid. But if she can’t, including her and all of the bridal party activities would be just as good.

I don't think it's too late. I'd definitely see what you can do. She really just needs a dress.
