Adding Poof to a Trumpet Dress?

I think I want to add some poof to my trumpet-style dress, and am hoping for some insight from anyone who has done this. How'd you do it? Any photos? It's got a bit of poof, as you can see in the website photos, but I'd like it to have a little more fullness. Wearing it, the poof it has doesn't hold...

It's got a bit of poof, as you can see in the website photos, but I'd like it to have a little more fullness. Wearing it, the poof it has doesn't hold and just kind of clings to my legs, if that makes any sense.

TIA!!

First without a slip, second with. Subtle difference.

Get a petticoat! I plan to borrow my FSIL's petticoat because my dress is a sheath, and needs just a little tiny bit more "oomph" at the bottom. She recommended I try it on. Haven't done that yet but, you know, there's time.

I have a trumpet and I went without it. That is because I felt there wasn't a difference in appearance with it on.

If you can, try it on both with and without a slip (or petticoat or whatever) and get photos both ways. Also walk around in it and see how it feels. Then you can see what level of poof you like best!

You can buy a slip and poof it out. There are pretty affordable!
