Are you planning on adding to your family after your wedding? Or if you have already gotten married have you started trying to add to your family? (Fur babies count too!) Are you going to wait a while?

My husband is ready to start trying to conceive! I have been ready for a while, but I wanted to be married first. We are so excited to be trying for a baby, but we are also terrified! Having a tiny human that is half of me and half of my very best friend would be amazing! On the other hand it is scary to think about miscarriage and infertility. As of right now I have gotten my BC removed and if it happens it happens!

What are you and you significant others plans to add to your family, if you want to add to your family?

The plan is to start trying immediately. Like we’re getting married in January, February it’s on lol. We’re both women so there’s a lot more involved to make it happen. I’ll be 31 when we’re married and carrying the baby, so we don’t want to wait too long.

My FH and I have been together for the last like 7 years, and he really wants a baby at this point but I'm just terrified LOL.

It's kind of a balancing act which is annoying.

I was going to get my IUD removed in February so that even if I got pregnant immediately, I would still be able to wear the dress I bought for our wedding in May. But then I get nervous about if we end up having to push wedding back AND I'm pregnant, I can't wear the dress which was a hefty price..(thanks mom). I'll probably know by Feb though if we have to move it out? Hopefully...

Plus, I'm going on 30 next year and I don't want to wait too long to start TTC since ideally I'd like a couple kids spaced out. It would suck if we pushed out the wedding and waited to start trying until fall of 2021 and then didn't even get pregnant until a year later!! I'd be 32 by the time I had my first kid and then have to go through the whole thing again to try for another!!! ahhhh

Phew. Okay done with ranting and panicking. (:

We are old lol. I’m almost 39 and he is almost 41. I also have two teenage sons (13 and almost 16) but we are hoping to try for a baby once some of my medical stuff is cleared up. I have a tumor on my spine so that’s obviously first priority. I talked with my gyno who said once they figure out the tumor, I’m good to go for TTC. He said he’s seeing a lot of older moms these days. It’s a scary thought, though, starting over again. We’ve discussed adoption if having our own doesn’t work. FH doesn’t have kids of his own because he focused on his career instead of starting a family and after much discussing we both agree we really want to have a child to raise together. We definitely won’t be adding any new fur babies anytime soon. We have three large dogs and two kittens.

Originally we wanted to get married this spring, go on an incredible honeymoon, then more seriously talk about children (he just turned 38, I'll be 35 by the end of the year). Now with Covid and the what seems to be a never ending downward spiral of the USA, including women's reproductive rights on the table, I'm nervous about trying to conceive. Now doesn't seem like a good time, but we are also running out of time.

We are waiting until the end of the year (after elections, in time with my next scheduled OBGYN appointment) to talk to my doctor further about trying.

My FI and I adopted a cat about a month ago, which was something we talked about for a while. It's been intense, but we love him, and his sweet face makes everything worth it.

I am a fencesitter on biological kids...I never really saw myself as a mom and I don't like babies or toddlers, but I think I would enjoy the satisfaction of raising older kids and actually doing stuff with them. We have talked a lot about adopting out of foster care, and I may change my mind about bio kids but it's too soon to say. When I was a teenager I thought I'd have my first kid at 27/28, now I'm thinking I will revisit at 30. I am 25 and FI is 26.

The only addition is really on my part - I get a step-son. We won't have our own unless we adopt (I lost my ability to conceive many years ago and then there is the whole age factor too... LOL), but even with adoption we don't have much time left to do that. Overall, I'm happy with just the ss who's 10 now and our fur babies (4).

I would love a baby ASAP after the wedding but there is also so much fear. I know people say things change after you get married and throwing a kid into that? But I'm not sure what can change, we've lived together 7 years, and have had joint bank accounts for 6.5 years. I am just an over worrier.

You're not old! I hope they can get the tumor figured out! My mom has one on her spine too. Adoption is a great option if it doesn't work out, but I hope it does! Smiley smile

Thanks! It’s definitely scary, the tumor. I hope your mom is ok. Mine causes a lot of odd medical stuff. But I’ve always wanted to adopt so even if we can have one biologically we would look into adoption.
