Addressing thank you’s

Katie, on July 14, 2020 at 2:25 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 10
I was curious what y’all are doing for addressing WEDDING SHOWER thank you’s. Since it’s a ladies only event do you write “dear mrs.” ? Or do you address the couple since it’s a gift from that family?

I addressed it to the person who attended the shower, unless the card was addressed from the entire household.

I agree with Caytlyn. I did the same thing so for instance one of my bridesmaids attended without her husband, but the card was signed from both of them so when I sent the thank you card I addressed it to both of them.

I'm going to address the envelope to whoever signed the card that went with the gift. Does anyone know if you're just supposed to sign it, or if it should be from both of you as a couple?

Address it by first names to whomever the gift was from. You go by the names in the attached cards. Don't assume a gift is from the wife only just because she was the only one in attendance.

I signed for both my husband and I because a. He was there and b. The gifts are just as much his as mine.

To answer OP, as others have said, I addressed it to whoever signed the card. We had a female-only shower for the most part (husband's dad and grandpa were there too), but most of the cards were signed by the couple.

I would do as others have suggested... write the thank you to whoever signed the card. You can always put Dear Mrs. (and Mr.). I've done that before too. But either way, wherever you send the card they'll know you're thanking the household in general Smiley smile
