Adhesive Spray Glue Question for Diyers

I want to use these intricate paper doilies on my Rehearsal Dinner invites. If I sprayed an adhesive spray craft glue on these doilies, will it just stay behind the surface? Should I put like wax paper behind or something so it doesn’t stick? I’m a newbie DIYer but I’m enjoying it so much! These are the doilies I’m thinking of using and the craft glue I’m thinking of using. I’m also open for using a different type of glue! But, I want something quick and easy!

I apologize I’m a bit confused. Are you trying to glue the invite to the doilies or vice versa? If you’re glue the doilies to the invite then yes I would use some type of blocker so you don’t have glue everywhere. If the other way around spray the invite then attach the doilies.

I was thinking of spraying the doily then sticking the invite to it. But, if it works better to spray the invite and stick the doily to it, then I can do that, too! I just thought it was better to spray the doily because there would all this extra glue on the invite if I spray it on there.

Do a tester and let it dry completely before you continue. That will let you know not only which method works the best but also lets you see if the glue drys clear and if the glue will wrinkle the invite. I have used spray adhesive on outdoor projects so not sure how it works on paper. Also protect the area you are working in from glue that doesnt hit the doilie/invite
