Advice: My Post-wedding Wedding Dress Regret

Future brides beware of wedding dress regret. Don’t get me wrong, the dress I wore for my wedding was beautiful. But looking back at my photos, my wedding day look just doesn’t look like “me”, aesthetically. I specifically wanted to find either an all-black or partially black dress because our wedding was kind of gothic/dark fantasy themed and my bridesmaids were really pushing for this one specific white dress when we went shopping... I caved due to peer pressure when I feel like I should have kept looking. They didn’t want me to regret not feeling like a true bride by not wearing white on my wedding day, but in hindsight that didn’t really matter to me. I’d have felt like a “true bride” in a black dress just as much. So ladies: if your bridesmaids fall in love with a dress, don’t let the peer pressure in the moment keep you from potentially finding something better if you don’t love it.

I'm so sorry to hear this! It's really hard to choose people to go shopping with (in my opinion) and in our society now I feel like everyone can be sooo opinionated. It should have been about what you wanted 100% and not what they thought you should have. I was blessed all my party kept asking was "what do you think/like/dislike". They totally fed off of my emotion to dresses if I was eh they were too. I wish it would've been different for you but at least you were able to marry the man of your dreams!

I'm sorry to hear that, too! i am sure you still looked so gorgeous though but i do agree that there are some things that if you know it's not right, don't settle for it.

I'm so sorry this happened. I look back on the photos my bridesmaids worn and I wish I would have picked something else so I understand.

This is why I only took my mother dress shopping, she is the only opionion I trust and she knows me more than anyone! So sorry to hear you regret your dress choice, I love black dresses they are so pretty.
