Advice Needed: Bridesmaid dress color & Table Runners

BeachGirlie_2020, on November 26, 2022 at 11:51 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

Hi! I am planning my wedding for June of 2023 and our colors are Dusty Blue, Navy, and Light Grey. My bridesmaids will be in Dusty Blue, the Groomsmen in Navy, my Groom is Light Grey, and I will be in a satin ivory dress.

I am going to have ivory tablecloths with a colorful table runner to make it pop - but do you think it is overdoing it if we get Dusty Blue table runners? Or should we look at mixing up some tables to have Navy table runners and also incorporate the Dusty Blue? I think I am overthinking it lol but I also don't want it to be overwhelming.

Thank you in advance Smiley smile

No one will notice or expect them to match. Pick colors that flatter them for the dresses and something coordinating for the linens

I don't think dusty blue table runners and bridesmaids' dresses is too much. Some people really lean into a color and it can be a bit overwhelming -- I went to a pink wedding that felt like you were inside the Barbie dream house -- but even then, I was delighted that she was delighted with it. The table runners seem like a nice touch -- not overwhelming at all.

Hello Congratulations to you both on your engagement but I think you should mix it up with the dark Navy and light blue so where were you thinking of putting the grey into beside the groom wearing it.

I wasn't sure if I mixed it up if it would look good, but I definitely can see how it would if the table runners were alternating - one navy and then one dusty blue, etc.

Honestly, besides the groom, I didn't really think to add in grey.

    Thank you for your advice!

Another consideration is what color your centerpieces will be. If it would be easier to do flowers and other items in one color, you could have the table runners in the other color to work in your color scheme.

You are welcome certain colors can make the table pop and if you can incorporate either sliver or gold pieces can bring it all together

Maybe do light blue runners, then add white flowers with navy touches. Basic white roses with some dark blue thistles and maybe even faux anemones would look so good!

I really like the idea of having some tables in dusty blue and some in navy blue. I think I may steal that idea! I’m having my bridespeople in two different colors (dusty sage and lilac) so I’m now inspired to have some tables green and some purple. Maybe even do slightly different flower arrangements for each? I don’t think having the dresses match the tables is too much. I’d just try to make sure that the table the bridesmaids are at is navy. Or if you’re doing a head table, have it (or your sweetheart’s table) in light grey. Of course I’m a person that thinks consistency is a little boring. Maybe you disagree. Then I’d probably go with Navy.
