Advice on hair accessory (hearing aids)

Michelle, on June 5, 2024 at 10:24 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7
I am thinking I’d like to do a headband or some of their hair accessory since I have very short hair and can’t do much with it that’s interesting. The problem is that I wear hearing aids and glasses. I. February I had occasion to wear a fascinator but the netting got tangled in everything so I cut it off with a pair of nail scissors and after a couple hours all of that stuff behind my ears started to hurt.

My issue is when I try to google options, it keeps coming up with sports headbands and things for babies and other things for people with cochlear implants.
Does anyone have any advice?

They’re gorgeous - thank you! I was thinking headband so I could attach flowers that match and clip a veil on - but maybe I just need to come at it from a totally different angle 🥰

Etsy is your friend! There are SOOOOO many options, even headbands that are wire thin and lightweight with pearls, gems or even little veil. Just search wedding headpiece and enjoy!

Just to clarify, what type of hearing aid do you have? Not to get personal but different styles will determine what you are able to use. Because cochlear implants sit on top of the scalp and hair, they will be difficult to work around if you are looking to hide them with accessories. Do your aids sit completely inside the ear? If so, then there is nothing to get in the way behind the ear. So there is more freedom that way. Also, the “mini” in ear hearing aids don’t hide because some people have tiny ears so they will be visible no matter what. The over the ear aids are invisible from the front but they don’t work with glasses or headbands or anything external that sits in that area due to competing for space.

You can secure your hair with an elastic band to prevent slipping and then add a pin on top for bridal look

or 1920 inspired headpieces as Great Gatsby

or try veils with embelishment on top
