af is coming on my honeymoon! 😭😭 Advise?

Stefanie, on March 26, 2022 at 9:57 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

One month before my wedding day, my period decided to not show up and was three weeks late before getting it..aligning perfectly with the date of my wedding and honeymoon! It’s not the period itself that’s bothering me although that sucks, especially since we will be in Jamaica ! But I get such bad pms and so emotional! I plan to amp up exercise this month and focus on calming techniques and low sodium foods. Either way I’ll make the best of it I’m just mad that this would happen.. not surprised. Anyone else dealing with this or went through it? Advise??

Oh no that's so annoying! I'm concerned slightly too because I get super emotional the week prior, which is exactly when our wedding is. 😅🙃 I'm hoping to stick to tears of joy, but it's hard to say when it's getting down to wedding crunch time. 😂 Hopefully both you and I can psych ourselves out of it and stay calm 🤞

I sure hope so! I already apologized in advance to my FH for any mood swings or emotional outbursts that may occur leading up to that time. Lol

    I understand this!
I started a couple days before our wedding (it showing up late), as I thought it was my period...but I stopped the very next day. Couple days later packed and left for our honeymoon in Florida and after being there 2 days I started yet again, without any supplies on hand, and it continued for the rest of our time there!

Overall I of course thoroughly enjoyed and had fun at both our wedding and honeymoon but for it to be so sporadic and unpredictable was very much so out of the ordinary.

My period came a week early, the day following our wedding, but luckily it wasn't too big of an issue. I have PMDD and I attributed most of my usual week-before symptoms (irritability, severe anxiety, digestional discomfort/IBS, lack of appetite) to high stress. I leaned on my friends and family a lot in the week before the wedding and they were all happy to be there for me.

My advice would be not to sweat it so much. Everyone is already expecting that you might be emotional and planning to support you. You are the bride so they will mistake any extra emotional outbursts to stress. It will be okay!

The problem is the pain I have when I get it mostly.. I went to my doctor and started BC a couple days ago. Hoping the hormones throw off my normal schedule or let me skip it all together. 🤞🏼
