Affordable All-Inclusive Honeymoon?

Kacee, on August 10, 2011 at 10:34 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 24

We've taken two great vacations to Jamaica that were very affordable and fantastic. We want to go somewhere else for our honeymoon, but still want to stay tropical. We want an all inclusive place that's $1500 per person or less for the whole deal. (Closer to $1000 would be even better!)

I know flights from different places will vary (we're going out of DFW). Anyone have any affordable recommendations? We want beach and drinks! Of course, the nicer the better, but we're not expecting something super upscale. Please sent me your ideas!

Mexico have similar packages as Jamica, you can also check Punta Cana. Those are the most popular all-inclusive destinations

We are going to the Secrets Silversands resort in Cancun it was about $2100 total which includes airfare and it's all inclusive. PLUS it's adults only which was important to me. The resort looks really pretty!

My sister and I went to Punta Cana, DR, booked on orbitz for 1300 pp including air and a 6 night stay. We stayed at Dreams Resorts and SPa, it was awesome!

Punta Cana and Mexico are probably your best bets. But Search around. We like to use either www.cheapcarribean.com or www.allinclusiveoutlet.com. They have always been reasonable and good to us. Before we book our resorts, we read reviews about them on www.tripadvisor.com

Agreed that Mexico and Punta Cana are your best bets to keep the budget down, and are also closer to the US than other places, so airfares may be okay too. In addition to checking the websites suggested above, sign up for airfare alerts so you can jump on a good deal if one comes around!

We were originally going to Excellence in the Cancun area...it was just under $2000 for the both of us. That did not include airfare, which was like $800 for the two of us...

We just stayed in May at the Princess Resort in the Riviera Maya, Mexico! It was one of the best vacations we've had. The resort is all inclusive and 4 star. They have swim up rooms too. We had one right in the main pool so we had non-stop music and entertainment and swim up bar all day! Numerous restaurants on site and a beautiful beach. We booked it through Bookit.com and payed hotel and airfare $1,200 per person. It's also only 5-10 drive into downtown Playa del Carmen. You have to check out 5th Ave. in Playa. It is by far my favorite spot!! The resort offers free shuttle service to 5th ave. too.

The nightly entertainment at this resort was fantastic too!

    Good Luck!

We're staying at the secrets royal beach in punta cana, DR and it's about $3000 total...i don't know the exact per person price. this is with a private ride to and from the resort to the airport and we have a swim up room (i am excited for this ha). that cost includes 6 nights and airfare. i can get more details if you want them but that's the basics i have Smiley smile good luck!

to add -- we went through a local travel agent where i'm from. he didn't work for commission from us but got paid through the companies he booked through. that was nice because it would have been the same cost had we gone on the internet and found the same deal but it was so much easier having him do what he does best and not raising the price for commission.

I've heard Punta Cana is an amazing trip and the US dollar is strong there.

Thanks everyone! I've looked into Puerto Vallarta and Punta Cana. There are some great options well within our price range in both areas. I'd never even thought about Punta Cana, but I think that's going to win out. These places look so great for such a great price!

Claire-I will definitely look into that place.

I've seen some awesome deals on LivingSocial.Com. I don't know if they are "all inclusive" but a lot of them do include food and drinks for some of the nights.. it's worth a try, eh? Smiley smile

If you do that though, check the fine print to make sure it doesn't expire before your wedding..

Tammy that resort is beautiful! And I love the idea of a swim-up room! We never got our honeymoon and are shooting for something in january. I just ran it on Book-it and even with a preferred flight it was barely $2000 including taxes and fees! I am SO going to show DH when I get home!

I'm an event planner out of Florida and my husband and I just got back from our vacation in Punta Cana an ALL Inclusive resort. It was PARADISE, the only thing is that it's also a family resort. The name of the resort is called the Barcelo Bavaro Beach Resort.

For how many days? We stayed at two Excellence resorts in Mexico, for 9 days each time, and it was $1,800 per person, and $500 of it was direct flight from DC, so it came out to be $1,300 plus direct flight per person. And worth every penny!

From DFW u can probably do a very very nice package to Cancun. We spent under $3000 for 6 nights at the SUn Palace in Cancun and it includes flight out from orange county. The best part aside from the all inclusive is they give u up to $1500 in credit to spend on tours n excursions, upgrades, spas, and photo.
