Affordable bridesmaid gift? Is it possible?

SoontobeMrs.Ree, on October 14, 2016 at 1:42 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 26

Hello all! I wanted to get some feedback on what brides on a budget have done for their bridesmaids as a gift.

Right now we are doing a little dinner for just the bridal party, paying for their hair, jewelry and hotel. With all the expenses we're out of money, but I still want to make them feel appreciated. Anything really small I could do? Maybe DIY? Or is a card enough?

When I was a MOH my bride gave us a photo album with our favorite animal on front and copies of pictures we were featured. Of course it wasn't the day of the wedding but I liked that. I'm going with earrings with their birthstone. A personalized card is good.

I bought my bridesmaids the personalized robe, some lip gloss, the personalized hanger and the barefoot sandals. I'm also going to buy them a tote to present the gifts in. Look at gifts on etsy that's where i bought most of mine and they were relatively inexpensive. Honestly though what you bought them sounds like enough.

What about photo albums for each of the girls with pictures of your friendship? All you would have to do is buy photo albums and print the pictures.

I have spent maybe $30 each for my 3 bridesmaids. They are getting glittery compact mirrors, makeup bags embroidered with their initial, eos lip balm, and a bridesmaid emergency kit.

I wrote each of them a letter titled I chose you because....I explained how much they meant to me. They all cried. I also am paying for their hair and makeup as well as mansion to stay the weekend in. It's located on the property our venue is at.

I bought personalized wine glass decals from

etsy, $1.95 each, wine glasses from dollar tree $1 each, and roll up flats from backupsoles.com, $5 each. And I'm embroidering handkerchief with their names because they are cry babies . lol! Those will cost about $15 to make 8. And I'm just going to put them in regular gift bags. A dozen for $6 at Joann fabric, about $3 with coupon. Altogether about $75 for 8 girls. I might add tide pens or shout wipe cloths with one of the target gift cards I got at my bridal shower.

What i've been doing is getting things for my bridesmaids on a site called Amazon Review Trader. It is completely free to sign up and use. It use to be a site where you got products for deep discounts or even free in exchange for a review, but Amazon just recently update their policy to where they don't even require you leave a review anymore. The site is absolutely awesome and I use it all the time but it has especially been great for wedding planning. Because you can only get one of each product I've been doing bridesmaid's baskets with an assortment of goodies for each girl, items like salt scrubs, lotions, nail files, essential oils, and jewelry. I also did the same for all of the groomsmen getting them beard oils, and workout goodies such as weight belts and jump ropes. It is best to use if you have amazon prime, and shop the items that have FBA (fulfilled by amazon) in the corner of their pictures that way you get free two day shipping. I hope this helps!

My two favorite gifts for being an attendant were: a framed picture of the bride and me, the day of, and a glas with the date and name of the couple on it- sadly, it broke in my suitcase, but I know I would have used it for years! Neither one cost more than $20.

My favorite gift I ever received as a bridesmaid was a plain white coffee mug filled with hot cocoa mix, a small chocolate bar, and a teeny bottle of Bailey's. chocolate and alcohol FTW!

Bump thank you ladies! Great ideas!! One of my bridesmaids is covered in tats, so I'm getting her $25 gift certificate to the same tattoo artist we both use. And some Halloween items bc she loves it. My sister(MOH) is materialistic so she will get a clutch or jewelry. My FHs sister another bridesmaid, loves lady bugs and I'll be getting her something with that. My daughter is easy- she's a junior bridesmaid. Each of them have such different personalities, I want to keep things individualized. Still tossing around ideas. I have time. Smiley smile

I posted before but there are these candles on esty with names and definitions on them and you can pick the scent I think they are like $10-15. If you don't want names, you can pick the bridesmaid option and definition
