Affordable li Wedding

Hello! My fiancé and I are having a hard time finding a venue on Long Island that is affordable...everywhere seems to be like $25,000 and up. Does anyone have a creative idea for a reception venue?

    Hi Rachel,

That's tough, I have girlfriends who rented a VFW or that type of hall, but it means more work for you, with decorations and flowers, food and beverage, music and photography, good luck!!

You’re welcome! 200 guest I guess that is why it’s a bit high lol I think fall will definitely be cheaper than summer, however sometimes venues will give you dates in hotter months that cost the same as cheap in cold weather like mothers or Father’s Day..... I think you should check out crest hollow, as they are very affordable, chateau la mer lenards and if you are willing for a colder month I have heard of water mill being as cheap as around 70 a person. Lastly, Verdi of Westbury is very affordable I think it’s more of a catering hall than wedding venue but it is absolutely beautiful!! I think you can get as low as 60 a person

The most important things to do are ask questions and take notes. That's what saved us from booking the wrong venue. We were just about to sign the contract with Villa Lombardi's and then the RED flags started popping up when we reviewed our notes. The first flag was when we saw that the price being charged was higher than the quoted in our notes. Only to find out that the difference was in the required add-ons -- like valet parking (which we dont need or want). Only after asking more questions did we learn that Villa Lombardi's had another wedding booked that same night as ours... And they weren't going to mention it until after we signed the contract. Don't think I want to share bathrooms with another bride.

Go to Westbury manor. That’s where we’re having our wedding. Ask for Ian - he helped us! Tell him I sent you. -Shayna
