Affordable wedding cake options - anyone had experience?

So we're on a super tight budget but I still want a cake. So we're on a super tight budget but I still want a cake. I'm looking at possibly Walmart, Fry's, maybe Costco (but I want a tiered look and yes I did see that $50 one that someone did that's been floating around online but there's no tutorial!). Other grocery stores in my area are Basha's, Whole Foods, Sprouts, Albertson's, and Safeway.

I'm trying to keep it around $100 - $150 for about 100 people. We will also have a chocolate fountain set up (my mom already has one from my graduation party) because my sister has Celiac and can't have cake so we'll have that set up with strawberries and marshmallows and rice crispies or something like that (all gluten free things to dip) so it's not like cake will be the only dessert.

Walmart can do a 3 tier with a fancy filling decorated for 134 people for $150, which isn't bad. But I don't know how I feel about a Walmart wedding cake...(not sure why a Fry's or Costco cake is better to me than Walmart but somehow it is. Haven't been able to meet with a baker at Fry's yet to ask about pricing though)

Anybody use a grocery store for their wedding cake that can give me some guidance?

I got a tiered cake from Sam’s Club for my daughter’s high school graduation. For 3 tiers (served 85-I think) it was $65. We chose a wedding patterned cake and changed the colors to her HS colors and received so many compliments on the cake. I was busy setting things up for her party so I had a friend pick it up and it was packaged perfectly and arrived without incident.
We had planned to do the same for the wedding with matching cupcakes due to our wedding size but we have a friend (Baker) doing it for us as a gift.
