Affordable Wedding Invitations and the Wording?

Cherthelove, on January 5, 2021 at 10:35 PM Posted in Planning 0 19

Because of Covid I'll be sending two sets of wedding invitations. A few to the smaller group for the ceremony in April and then the larger reception late in the year (hoping and praying). What are some affordable options you've used and what are some important details I should add.

Thanks!

Zazzle, Shutterfly, and Ann’s Bridal Bargains are all very popular choices!

Ann's Bridal Bargains is where we got our invitations. They were good quality and the cheapest I found.

As far as details: who, what, when, where. Just make sure you have the people, location, and date and time. A lot of the websites have wording templates that you can just fill in with your specific details.

Ann's Bridal Bargains and costco.com are the cheapest. Zazzle, Minted, etc are among the more expensive.

I got ours from magnetstreet because they were having a 75% off sale. Vistaprint usually has amazing sales as well

I created my own, and printed them out on my printer. just bought ink for my printer from walmart and and paper from michaels crafts. once i priced it out, it was SOOO much cheaper than even ordering on shutterfly with 50% off!!

Did you use a specific program to create the invitations? Thanks!

We ordered all of our wedding stationary from Magnet Street: https://www.magnetstreet.com/wedding-invitations

The last thing that I wanted to do was spend a lot of money on invitations, because while they are necessary, they really aren't that important at the end of the day. For example, I would rather use money towards decorations, food, or anything that would make the guests actual experience better. Magnet Street constantly runs sales, like someone mentioned below, and you can even get them up to 75% off sometimes. Since you're getting two different invitations, you don't want to order the same ones, and luckily they have a great selection to choose from.

In terms of wording, you just need to include your names, the date, the time, and the location of the ceremony and/or reception.

We are printing our own save the dates and invitations as well. Got refurbished ink from Walmart and clearance cardstock from Michael's. I plan to use Avery.com which is free to use, for my save the dates. For the invitations I'm planning on using my silhouette cameo and probably either Avery.com again or a program that's like photoshop but free to download and use called Gimp to give them more artistic flare. I'm finding this way cheaper than ordering and you can have Avery.com print them for you and ship them to you pretty cheap if you wanted to try that.

I found a free editable template through a google search and printed them at Staples. I spent $100 total on all my stationary including postage and pocket envelopes.
