Rose, on January 25, 2017 at 12:02 AM Posted in Planning 0 32

I need help! My fiance and I are planning a wedding and our budget for the wedding is no more than $10,000. We are inviting about 80 people and need to afford this wedding. Can you guys help with venues, hints, tips, anything that you can! Please!!! I am overwhelmed.

Saved $400 doing my own centerpieces also saved with the DJ most DJS will play what you want . The ones recommend to me were 1,000 I got one for 550 I know he'll do a great job .

Look for a venue that's available on a Sunday. We saved half on the rental by doing that. Also, we cut flowers (bouquets, bouts, and corsages only) programs, late night snack, photo booth, and a lot of things that are perks. Look at the private room of a restaurant too. Or look at a cake and punch reception. You won't have a big party atmosphere, but you can still have a nice wedding.

Of those 3 states, PA has the smallest sales tax, but it's higher, in the city of Phila. We booked on a Sunday night, because it was the only date available, but then found out it was around $50 p.p. cheaper, than a Saturday night.

I am in the Philadelphia area. We choose an off peak season (March) and were able to save about 50% off per person ,of the normal saturday price. (I was suprised what some venues considered there busy season and the price differences) Also friday nights, saturday day, and sundays were typically less. Since our date is off season we also saved on dj, photographer, and flowers as well. A lot of restaurants in the Philadelphia area have nice banquet rooms with all inclusive packages too! *on mobile sorry for errors*

That's a very high cost area so you might be in for a lot of work. Check out state/local parks and VFW or fire halls. They come with very little but if you DIY a lot you might be able to get a deal. Restaurant receptions might also be an option, so you'd know the space, linens, silverware etc. was included with the cost of food.

Booking a restaurant may be the best option. They are less likely to have a strict minimum and can be more flexible than other places.

Our venue is all inclusive so includes centerpieces, cake, catering. I would compare the prices of inclusive vs non inclusive.

ETA: also look outside of Philly and NYC

PA outside of philly would be the cheapest. That's where we are and our ceremony & reception for 80 is about 9000 on a Saturday in June including cake and a nice meal!

NY will probably be the most expensive of the 3, followed by NJ. Are you looking specifically for north Jersey/PA? I'm outside of Philly and would suggest staying out of the city and compare all inclusive because we found them to be cheaper than catering. Unless you rent out a room at a restaurant.

I know William Penn Inn and Downingtown Country Club have deals

ETA: I would look for advice from Celia since she did catering and is from Jersey so she would know more specific places

Is your entire budget for everything $10,000 or is that just for the venue? If it's your entire budget, and you're looking to have a fairly traditional wedding, just my $0.02, but you will have a difficult time hosting 80 guests in NJ/NY/PA. I am hosting about 40 in NJ for not much less than that, getting married on a Friday, and got unusually good deals on several vendors. I would suggest cutting your guest list if possible, calling up restaurants with private rooms, or sticking to more rural areas in PA. Research, research, research.

Warrington country club in PA was very reasonably priced, especially for off peak. Only reason we didn't go with it was bcuz FH and I couldn't agree on which room we wanted.

I live in the metro NY area.

I have seen some all inclusive venues (dinner, flowers, DJ, photography etc) that priced out at about 15k for 100 guests on a Friday or a Sunday off peak. But you are stuck using their vendors.

If the 10 is for everything, including your dress, invitations, transportation, hair, makeup etc, I think you need to look at alternate venues - a restaurant maybe.

    Good luck!

I live in the Philly area and we're getting married in March 2018 with a 10% discount from the PP price at our semi-inclusive venue. Our PP price is $85ish including tax and service charge. This includes food, alcohol, ceremony venue, linens, cake. How far south in NJ are you willing to go?

You won't find it in northern NJ that's for sure. Lowest I have seen is $100 per person. I would think NY would also be fairly expensive. PA would be your best option in my opinion!

Renault winery in Atlantic County, NJ, MIGHT be able to be within budget. I'm not sure where you are though.

Take a look at Clarion Hotel and Conference Center in Toms River, NJ. Its right off the Garden State Parkway so it's easy access. The room we are having our wedding in holds about 80 people. Centerpieces, chair covers and cake is all included in the price per person. They are really easy to work with (Kevin is great!!). Our budget was $10,000 but we are under that. We are inviting about 65 people.

Off-Peak wedding on a Sunday in PA would be your best bet --- and I'd move quick on finding a venue if you're looking to get married October of this year, as October is quickly becoming the new May for weddings. When we were finding venues last November there were places that were booked solid.

    Thursday. Great choice.

    Try;

    The Olde Mill Inn

    The Tides

    The Rock Island Lake Club

    Perona Farms

The Sterling Ballroom in Tinton Falls

    Victor's Chateau

    Ravellos

    Hird Lake Spa in Sparta

It's kinda not enough of a budget.
