After minimony?

What is everyone doing after their minimonies? We’re thinking about just getting married now and having the party next year. We’d have about 16 people in my backyard for an intimate morning ceremony. But then what?? I want to do brunch but I don’t think we can go to a restaurant with that many people even if we booked a private room. What is everyone else doing? Are you doing more casual or full on decorating and meal etc?

Full-on decorated with a meal. We ordered food to be delivered and had a mini reception where we played background music (pandora connected to a small bluetooth speaker) while we ate. Just because it was only 9 of us didn't mean we couldn't celebrate! We are still having our big day next year.

Maybe see if you can get catered food and such afterwards in your back yard? Or a park? We are doing a small ceremony at a park and then going to dinner (about 20ish people). We were originally going to use this particular restaurant's patio or tent (we'll decide soon) for our rehearsal dinner, but since we postponed we won't need it. However they were willing to have us a few days later post-"minimony" so it worked out. The whole thing will be pretty casual, but that's okay. We'll do the big stuff next summer.

We rented a tent and had a catered (somewhere in between casual and formal for covid reasons) meal for 15 people immediately after the ceremony. We had to start planning this in May so a restaurant definitely wasn't an option at that point, but even if it had been, I think what we did ended up being a lot better for us.

We had a mini reception back at our apartment. It was still catered by a local soul food restaurant and we had our cake from Shoprite.
