After wedding photo shoots

Lafuturaseñora, on March 29, 2021 at 8:59 PM Posted in Planning 0 9
Has anyone done photo shoots in wedding attire at a certain venue you just couldn’t work into the schedule on the day of? Share pics!
I’m going to bring it up to my husband. Anything to get an excuse to wear my wedding dress again 😍😍tenor.gif

I want to do this, but for a different reason than time. We got married at a beautiful art museum, and it was where I wanted to have our vow renewal - but we visited it the other day and found that time changes a lot of things, not always for the best. It's still pretty at a glance, but I realized I would not at all want to have our vow renewal there.

So I think the compromise is that we're going to have a photoshoot there instead. It's easier to get only the best angles and best parts of the venue in photos, and I don't need thousands of photos of it like I would end up with if it was an event - just a dozen or so very nice ones.

Yay!! I’m glad he agreed, it will be so fun to dress up again and take photos. The day itself is so packed with so much it’s definitely hard to get all the photos you’d want in just one day

Ahh that’s a wonderful idea. Similar thought process here, the time thing was definitely an issue but mostly the different places / vibe for photo is why.
I like your idea of a photo shoot in the specific areas you like !

Hey there Erin - just saw this post, am going through this myself. How did the re-shoot go? How much did it cost to do the re-do? Did you get hair and makeup done all again? Did you do professional photography or a friend? Id love to have some decent styled photos of myself and my husband but I'm afraid he'd never be on board because of the cost. Cons with doing a re-do for us at this point include my dress has already been preserved, and I hacked off all my hair. Smiley sad

    To the group:

As an option, I am considering dressing up in my rehearsal dinner dress (a long white, sexy maxi dress with a slight lace train - it's really fabulous esp. from the back), doing my own hair and makeup, and just having our photographer take a few shots when he visits us next (he's re-doing some of our details shots that we missed due to lack of time as well so it wouldn't be that much of an imposition to ask him to pop outside for a few minutes at dusk and get some photos of me).

While I have about 3 decent shots of my bridal portrait, I was feeling really down about my weight at the time and I just felt like a lot of the poses were just very unflattering (not photographer's fault - my hangup). I also really wanted some photos of me and/or my husband walking toward the camera, and again walking away so you could see my train, which we just don't have. I don't have any photos of me that make feel like the woman I am, and want to be going forward.

    Would this seem silly?

I really want a few editorial style photos of myself and possibly my husband that I just didn't get on the day of, and it seems like a good compromise as opposed to the hassle of getting my real dress out of preservation.
