I've thought about airbrush make up but I've never worn it what are the pros and cons of it?

It really depends on your skin type. If your skin is very, very dry airbrush may not work for you. Mine is combination and I loved it. It was light and stayed on all day and night. She airbrushed my blush and a bit of contour as well.

I like airbrush because it is light and stays on all day/night. It also holds up better if you cry/sweat. I have dry skin and I still can do the airbrush, I just have to moisturize before and have them use a moisturizing primer before as well.

I'm not an airbrush fan. I had it once for a wedding when I was a bridesmaid. I have uneven skin, acne scarring, pitting, and dry/oily skin around my nose. I felt like the makeup clung to my dry skin and imperfections, unlike traditional makeup. I asked her to fix it and she sprayed lotion on me, but I just looked wet until it dried then back to dry skin. The bride & MOH had very clear skin and it looked great on them! I'm doing traditional makeup & getting dermaplanning the week before.

Is there anything I can to do to help prepare my dry skin for the airbrush makeup

I've gotten airbrush twice for prom in high school (obviously awhile ago lol) and I got it again at my trial a couple weeks ago. I just used a good exfoliating scrub the night before and then moisturized my skin the night before and the morning of. I told my HMUA artist that I have dry skin so she put a moisturizing primer on before she did the airbrush. It looked smooth, not dry at all, and lasted all day. I would definitely exfoliate the night before so that your skin is smooth and any dry skin is removed, and then moisturize really well the night before and day of, and the weeks leading up as well. I also recommend drinking a ton of water.
