Airbrush makeup and oily skin

C, on September 9, 2020 at 12:27 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 7

Has anyone tried airbrush makeup with oily skin? My skin is super oily but my nose still gets some dry flakes. Does airbrush makeup tend to hide the oil shine or do you need to use blotting sheets, etc. ? I have never tried airbrush so I'm a bit nervous about the inability to touch it up.

I have always found air brush make up works best with my oily skin. It does however cling to any dry spots/flaky skin you may have!

I have combo to oily skin and had airbrush done for my trial and loved it! I'd recommend doing your trial with airbrush to see how it works for you.

I tried airbrush makeup for my engagement photos and thought it was great! I have combo dry/oily skin in certain spots and the makeup stayed on the whole day! Definitely planning to use it on my wedding day.

I wanted airbrush makeup originally because I have very oily skin but the makeup artist suggested against it. I can't remember why. However during my trial she said I had "texture issues" with my skin. I too had some flakey spots around my nose and cheeks. She suggested I get a facial peel. So about 3 weeks ago I got a facial with a peel and microdermabrasion. It made all the difference. I don't have any texture problems now. I will be going back in about a week to have it done again before the wedding.

I have combination skin but I sweat a ton (especially at weddings 😆) and airbrush makeup worked perfectly for me!! It stays all night, hides my sweat, and doesn't budge at all!

So airbrush makeup is generally just the foundation, maybe blush. It doesn’t include eyeshadow or brows. Airbrush foundation worked great for me and my oily/sensitive skin with minimal shine! My eyeshadow though was definitely worn by the end of the night. You can bring blotting sheets or translucent powder just in case, but you likely won’t need to use it with a good airbrush foundation! I had to scrub with makeup remover to get it off at the end of the night, it really had great staying power!

Make sure you exfoliate and moisturize generously the week leading up to having airbrush makeup done. A trial is totally worth it because the makeup artist can coach you on what to do to prep your skin for wedding day!
