Airbrush Makeup Prep

Janelle, on August 13, 2018 at 1:32 PM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 3

Hi there! I'm getting married in 25 days and am looking for some advice for skin prep for airbrush makeup. My MUA is using S/B Temptu, and my trial left me feeling a little cakey, whereas I think Temptu is really supposed to melt into your skin and NOT give a cakey appearance. I have generally dry skin (especially when I travel back to the West Coast from humid DC) and I think one of my biggest mistakes was the moisturizer I used and my exfoliation schedule (I did morning of). Does anyone have any tips for how to prep your skin (e.g., exfoliation, moisturizer, primer, etc.) for flawless airbrush makeup application? Anything specifically for Temptu?

Thanks!

Just moisturize (like you said) seems to be the best for airbrush. I'd get an intense moisturizer for night time, and a lighter one with SPF for daytime.

I don't have anything specifically related to your brand you mentioned but I do have a tip that my HMUA gave me that worked for me. I also have very dry skin and at my trial 2 months before my wedding my HMUA noticed my skin was dry and flaky. She recommended I use Radha Rosehip Oil every night as a moisturizer. I got it that same week and used it every day leading up to my wedding and we both noticed a big difference in how soft and radiant my skin was. I still use it every night and love it.

Hi Janelle! Have you asked your makeup artist? I'd definitely ask her since she's used to working with that airbrush foundation brand!! Also a little extra moisturizing and drinking water before the wedding doesn't hurt. Smiley shame Just be careful trying any brand new products right before the wedding in case your skin reacts poorly!
