Tomorrow is the trial right? I booked mine and couldn't get in until JUNE!! Of course it is "wedding season" LOL. I am so anxious to see what you think. I did ask for the half airbrush and half traditional and she is going to do 2 separate sessions close together.

Yes my trial is tomorrow! I'm so excited!! I'll definitely let you know how it goes. "Wedding season"! Tell me about it. It took me forever to find MUAs who weren't already booked.

I LOVE airbrush make-up! I have problematic skin, to say the least and was also wondering what to do on the big day. My fiance got me a small airbrush machine on Amazon for Christmas and I started just playing with it for my everyday make-up. There was definitely a learning curve to figuring it out, but it is AWESOME! The coverage and hiding blemishes is amazing! And, like you, I also wondered if it lasted like they say it does. In short, yes. Yes, it does. I tested it on New Year's and it stayed the exact same from 4pm - 3am. And I was pretty sweaty! Haha! Best advice here is to let it dry for a few minutes to allow it to set, then hit it up with make-up setting spray - but use water-based (Urban Decay makes a good one) - and your make-up will look flawless the whole time.

Bonus: once it dries and sets, you really don't have to worry about it "rubbing" off on people's clothes when hugging them or taking pics. It's on there pretty good. But feels like nothing at all.

I know it! I have a friend that is getting married May 2019 and I advised her to start calling places sooner than later. She had a hard time finding a cake already! Excited to hear how the make up goes.🤗

Thanks for the info Tashia! Can I just use my regular face wash to get it off?

Yes, ma'am! Smiley winking It lasts until you want it to come off, then it's pretty easily removed. I just use my regular face wash, but I would suggest upping your moisturizer game if you use if on a regular basis. It is pretty drying and it does NOT look good on dry skin. Imagine repainting a peeling wall without sanding it down first! So yeah, moisturize and let it dry. Two biggest tips. Smiley xd

Following! I have always wondered about airbrush! I have combo skin, so I dont know if would look good on me?? Also, since I am super duper pale, like a shade darker than a piece of paper, so I plan on getting a fake tan (which ive done before for 3promos, and ,will only really make me a shade or two darker...), will it stick to that?? I mean she only goes lightly over the face so it's not a stark difference between neck and face....

    Hi Sherry,

Update! Beware this will be a long post Smiley smile ...

First, I want a very natural look for my wedding because I don't wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, BUT, I want a more dramatic eye, so they really pop in our photos. I told both artists I want bronze colored eye shadow, eyeliner and lashes, very little blush, and a peach lip. I have very oily skin (I'm always so paranoid I look shiny all the time, so I like a matte look) and I am acne prone (yay teenage skin in my 30s!).

My traditional trial was first. I loved what she did with my eyes! The color, the shading, the eyeliner, everything. And her eye makeup stayed put for 10 hours (from 2-midnight)! The rest of the makeup definitely hid my imperfections and I liked her subtle contouring and subtle blush. The makeup felt heavier than my every day make up of course, but it didn't feel gross or too heavy or cakey. And when I looked in the mirror, it definitely didn't look like I had a ton of my makeup on. Once I got home, I realized I didn't like the lip color (not peach enough) and I felt my brows were a little red. She also needed to add a little more makeup to my neck to really help blend and the lash application wasn't perfect. By the end of the night, while the eye makeup didn't budge, the rest of the makeup definitely wore off a little. Also, my super paranoid self did apply powder around 8PM because I felt shiny (my FH swears I wasn't shiny). Photos: I felt beautiful! (side note: after comparing these photos with the airbrush photos, I felt like I maybe could've used just a little more blush).

My airbrush trial was yesterday as you know. She used silicone based makeup and told me before my trial that airbrush was the way to go for my skin type. The airbrush felt amazing! It felt like cool air (not makeup) being sprayed all over my face and neck when she applied it and it really felt like nothing was on my face. The foundation was the only part that was airbrushed though. Everything else (contouring, blush, eyes) was regular makeup. The airbrush definitely helped keep everything in place, but not all that much better than the traditional makeup. And I still had to apply powder part way through the day because I felt super shiny (again, FH said I wasn't shiny). I don't think it covered my imperfections any better than the traditional make up and I felt it actually made my pores look huge! I also felt like I had way too much blush on even though she barely put any on. I decided after she left and I stared in the mirror for a long time, that I preferred the eye makeup from my other trial better. Actually the eye makeup yesterday didn't stay put well at all and my eyes actually started to burn towards the end of the night (I had the make on from about 1 until 11). The lipstick came off after half a mug of coffee. The right lash wasn't applied well at all (it was sticking to my bottom lashes)! Photos: I couldn't see the large pores in my photos and it didn't look like I had a lot of blush on. I also felt beautiful!

Photos: I HATE selfies. Despise them. Because I am terrible at taking them...I can never find an angle I like. I really struggled to pick out photos I liked to show my friends after my first trial, but I honestly think it had to do with the angle and not the makeup. Overall, I think I look good in the photos with both types of makeup on (but I would love you opinion!). When I wasn't behind the camera, I couldn't get over how huge my pores looked yesterday. And the fact that the eye makeup didn't stay put. But, I also wish the foundation had stayed put a little better after the traditional trial. At the end of the day, I do think I'm leaning towards traditional. But, I'm still on the fence. I want to hear how your trial goes!!

I did airbrush and absolutely loved it. I had a lot of makeup on, but it felt light and stayed on all night! I highly recommend it!

Also looking at your pics I think you look more natural and glowy with the airbrush! Just my opinion though!

They all look great! I think the airbrush looks like you have more blush on but contours well. I like the eyes better in the traditional. And btw your pores do not look huge lol! I also think the airbrush blends better with your natural skin color. Oh boy, mines coming up on a month... I will keep you posted for sure!!!

I have decided to book a traditional make up trial with another person as well. He did my friends makeup and it look really good. If you look a couple posts up from Rachel this is what I am going for. Our skin tones and hair color is fairly similar. My head is spinning right now!

Sherry, who are you going with for the makeup trial? I'm getting married in Lincoln as well and was looking for a MUA for some out of town guests.

Haha! I think my pore paranoia is all in my head. Smiley laugh But honestly it made me a little self-conscious. Not how I want to feel on my wedding day. But the airbrush lasted for sure. And the contouring was nice. But yep, I like the eyes better in the first trial. I'm so torn!
I think it's good you booked a separate traditional trial. I feel like it would be weird to have half a face in airbrush and the other half in traditional. It's nice to see your whole face done up one way at a time.

He works at Sephora at Gateway mall. His name is Dakota. He has done some stuff for me in the past in the store. His make up is always PERFECT! He will also come to location I believe. I called and made my appointment with Stephanie this Friday. (She is also phenomenal). I trust them both. I will let you know how it goes!!

This is an interesting point. I have seen several BAMs with women of colour having airbrush makeup done and they look flawless. GymRat being one that instantly comes to mind.

I know little to nothing about airbrush makeup but I wonder if there is a smaller colour range for darker skin tones as there is with traditional foundations and that's why your MUA advised you against it?
