We're getting married July 1st but not honeymooning until the end of July. I plan on changing my name right after our wedding but not my passport until after our trip. Any advice on if I can still use my maiden name to book the trip and use my passport or should I make all the reservations in my married name?

*side note* my ID expires before my honeymoon that's why I'm not waiting until after the honeymoon to change my name.

Do everything in your maiden name and change it when you get back.

You don't need a passport to travel to Puerto Rico since it is a US territory. As long as you don't plan to travel to another country during your stay you can change your ID.

Your name must match what is on your passport when you leave.

I would wait as well. Or try to expedite everything. Also, if you have known traveler status (TSAPrechek) that has to match as well.

If you live in or near a larger city with a passport office, you may be able to get most of this done in a day. You may have to make the appointments now.
