Aisle issue

Bailey, on June 10, 2021 at 8:40 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
So I figured out how I wanted to decorate the space but I’m struggling with figuring out how to rework an aisle to walk down. The chapel has this really awkward pole dead in the middle. I thought maybe doing something off center but I can’t figure it out. Maybe move it closer to either side? Any ideas? Here’s a picture of what I’m talking about Aisle issue 1

    Tough one!

Could you angle the chairs towards the corner and have the pole on the edge of the aisle?

Or, simpler than that, have the pole on the edge of the aisle, and one side of the aisle slightly wider than the other, so it's not in your path.

OR! Have no middle aisle, and walk down one of the sides?

Yes! I was thinking either just walk down one of the sides or maybe make one side smaller than the other and nudge the aisle closer that way! It’s just in such an awkward spot I don’t know which would be better 🥴

It's awkward for sure. I don't think it would look too weird to have more chairs on one side compared to the other. Once the chairs are in and the flowers etc, I think it will look intentional and just fine.

    So here's an offbeat idea...

    Aisle issue 2

What about having your altar in the center of the space, or in between the poles, and spiral the aisle around it? It would make the poles less noticeable as well (they could be between seats, for example).

I know it's a very wild concept, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

Why don't u use the poles as the anchor and center for the chairs on either side. Just act like they are a chair. Then seat people from either side , just deepen the space between each row so that they don't have to side step and squirm past people. Then you can walk down one side of the aisle. You could even change things up since it's a unique venue and have brides maids walk down each side at the same time if you want.

I honestly don't have any good suggestions. That pole is in a rough spot.

My only idea (not a good one) would be to set your chairs up lengthwise facing in towards the pole, and then you and FH could each walk down a side of the aisle and meet in the middle at the pole?

It's the only thing I can think of, but it would suck for anyone on the other side of it who can't see you.
