Aisle runner for outdoor ceremony??

Marsha, on July 3, 2018 at 7:37 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 9
I am getting married outdoors, next May (weather permitting). The space is all grass (except the spot we stand for the ceremony) and I'm at a loss regarding the aisle. Do a runner down the middle or maybe just flower petals along either side? I am concerned about the grass and my heals getting stuck...it's happened at a wedding I attended sometime back. Attached is a pic of the actual space set up for another wedding a few weeks ago to give an idea of the aisle and chair set up. Thanking you in advance!!

Honestly, I wouldn't do anything. That setup is gorgeous! ☺

Not that it needs anything, but you could line the sides of the aisle with flower petals. I wouldn't do a traditional runner since it will be on grass and would become a tripping hazard.

I would skip the runner and use flower petals if anything😊
Also there are plastic heel attachments to prevent heels from sinking into the grass! I haven't personally used them but I've heard good things about them! They should be easy to find on Amazon or a different online store

Skip the runner. I recently saw wedding photos of a friend of a friend that had the runner on top of grass. It didn't sit well at all and ended up looking terrible.

Go for the petal heel attachments instead. That ceremony space is gorgeous!

It being grass, I would skip the aisle runner. It won't lay flat and look weird in pics, plus it could be a huge trip hazard 😯
I don't think anything needs done as the venue is gorgeous, but you could do petals down the sides, or just decorate the chairs along the ends with chair sashes or something.

Since it’s grass, I would skip the aisle runner and I love the idea of petals but one thing my florist told me when I was considering them for my outdoor wedding is that weather is unpredictable and if it’s a little windy that day, the petals will go everywhere and that your money will literally be getting tossed away. I decided not to go with the petals for this reason. Your ceremony space is beautiful as is, I personally don’t think you need anything!

Hi Marsha! Agreeing with the others above, I think some petals would be the perfect touch!! That venue is gorgeous!! Where is it located at? Can't wait to see pictures from the big day Smiley smile
