Aisle runner: yay or nay

ChocolatierKT, on March 2, 2016 at 7:27 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

Trying to decide if I want or need an aisle runner. Always thought yes because It's common. But now I don't know. So pros and cons please?

Thanks!

    Pros: pretty

Cons: cost, tripping, ripping. Etc. there was a forum on this a few days ago.

It was decided that outdoor weddings would make it even more hazardous.

I didn't have one, then was told I needed one from my DOC to break up the difference from carpet and dance floor (ceremony was in the same space as reception but broken down during cocktail hour) it looked nice but I really could have done without it if I hadn't had the chance to purchase it. What type of ground are you getting married on?

I love aisle runners! I'm doing mine a little non traditionally--we are covering the aisle completely in rose petals that fade from peach to blush (my colors). Where are you getting married? Indoor or outdoor?

Nay for us since its outdoors and I'd probably end up tripping over it. We may do petals though...

My DOC says they inevitably catch on your shoes and dress, says they are a headache to avoid.

I'm afraid of tripping, and a runner was never something I was dying to have. So we're skipping.

We are lining the aisle with rose petals.

    Indoors with wood floors.

I like the petal idea on the edges

I always viewed aisle runners as an extra, unnecessary expense.

We're not having an aisle runner because of the tripping issue. We're having our ceremony indoors, there's wood and carpet floors. I'd just rather not risk it.

I always thought the aisle runner was a church thing. I don't see the point though.

Eh. It's a moot point for me because I'm not allowed to have one (tripping hazard), but I probably wouldn't bother even if I could have one. Plus, the church we're getting married in is gorgeous on it's own. I'm not doing any decorating there.

Thanks everyone! No aisle runner for me. But possibly the petals along the edges.
