Aisle Runner? Yes/no?

Amy, on April 10, 2018 at 7:27 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7
I've decided due to budget to be fairly minimal with decor. I probably won't have an arch or florals for the ceremony and I was thinking an aisle runner might be a low cost option just to do *something*

Any tips on a good quality one? And how to ensure it looks good even if we opt for outside? Did anyone do ones with words or in a color other than white?

General aisle runner opinions? It's my research project for today Smiley smile

I personally don’t love them, I love the simplicity without an aisle runner. You also have to consider who is coming to the wedding and if it could turn into a possibly tripping hazard (particularly with elderly)

if you love them then go for it though! I just wanted to say if you don’t want that look, it does not take away from your days decor!

I've yet to use mine but I purchased it on oriental trading. I hear the most important thing is don't use them on a slippery surface and make sure you use the tape to secure it.

I plan to use one, but only because the flooring that our venue has the wedding tent on is not very picture pretty. It's on like a tennis court type of flooring; pretty much the only thing I hate about our venue. It won't be rolled out until my bridesmaids are ready to walk down and merely is for pictures that might be taken looking down the aisle as the ceremony is going on. If the flooring didn't have a imperfection in it then I wouldn't use one.

I asked my venue about an aisle runner for the ceremony (we are hoping to do it outside). They recommended not having a runner because a lot of times it doesn’t stay put outside.

Skip it. They are tripping hazards, particularly outside. Eons ago when I got married our photographer mentioned that he preferred pictures without 9ne because the bride's dress has better contrast with the ground, grass, carpet, or wood floor

If you're ceremony is outside DON'T use an aisle runner. If you want some decor on the aisle, sprinkle some real petals. Using a fabric aisle runner on the ground outside will definitely lead to a tripping hazard. Using it on a hard surface like wood or brick is okay because you can secure it with tape or something. Don't put it on grass, dirt, rocks, mulch. etc.

Thanks everyone! Since there's a chance we can make outside work I guess I'll definitely be holding off on the aisle runner. I'm super glad to know it's really not an option for an outside ceremony! That makes the decision easier!
