Aisle walk

Kayla, on June 26, 2023 at 2:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 4
Hi everyone! I wanted to come on here to get some ideas for brainstorming. To give some back story- my biological dad passed away in 2019. My step dad has raised me my whole life. I’ve always pictured my big day with both of my dads walking me down the aisle. My step dad will be walking me down the aisle, but I’m trying to find a way to incorporate my biological dad in it too. He was a proud veteran & I have all of his belongings- including his dog tags, army hat, pins/patches, etc + the folded flag I was given at his funeral. My first thought was to have my step dad carry the folded flag with his other arm, but will that look weird or out of place? I’m not sold on that idea. Please let me know if anyone has any recommendations. Thanks!❤️

I would maybe wrap his dog tags around your bouquet? I agree that walking with the folded flag may be a bit awkward in pictures.

Yeah I’m not sold on the flag either. But I do like Hannah’s idea of putting the dog tags around the base of your bouquet

Attach your fathers dog tags to you wedding bouquet. Have a special chair at the ceremony reserved for you bio dad with a photo, jacket and a boutonnière.

So sorry for your loss but what a sweet way to remember your dad. Maybe you can have the folded flag placed on a chair in the front row. The dog tags you can either have sewn into your dress or somewhere on/in your bouquet. They also sell bouquet charms you can put pictures of loved ones in. Best of luck to youSmiley heart
