Alesse Birth Control....Reviews Please???

♥ Soon 2B Mrs. Lewis ♥, on March 21, 2011 at 6:49 PM Posted in Married Life 0 4

Has anyone ever been on it. It is a type of birth control pill. I had The Implanon Implant in until today. I had it for 2 and a half years, and loved it in the beginning. Toward the end though was not so well so they took it out today. I told her that I was waiting until after the wedding to get pregnant so she prescribed Alesse. I told her that I had been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen LO before the Implanon and that it seemed to work without side effects. She said that going from the controlled release hormone from the Implanon that this Alesse would work better and that everything should be back to normal within 2 months! I dindnt realise it would take 2 months for the Implanon to get out of my system so here comes grouchiness!! and bridezilla! WHOOHOO!!!! Please let me know if you were ever on it and what you thought!

I've been on Alesse 21s for just over two years now. Have had no weight gain, no moodiness. The only side effect is that I rarely have my 'time' (twice in two years and a few light ones) and I am not complaining.

I was on it many years ago when I first started BC. It wasn't strong enough to control my periods so I moved on to other brands.

I was on Alesse 28 about 5 years ago, it wasn't strong enough for me either, like Dani. It may be TMI, but I had my period for 3 weeks on it, then I'd have a non-period week followed by another 3 weeks of period. Needless to say, I switched after the 3rd month (doc said to try it for 3 months to get an accurate measure of how it affected me). After that, I went on Marvelon, which wasn't as bad, but still not good, and then I went on to Synphasic, which was much better for me. I got tired of taking pills everyday so I went on the patch (Ortho Evera), which I hated because it would not stay adhered, and then Nuvaring which I liked and used for 3 years before I stopped in September when we started TTC.
