I just started Alexa Jean’s sore to the core 30 day program yesterday. It was hell, and yes I’m very sore today! And I have to do it again after work. 😩

I’ve been strength training and walking/running along with dieting. I’ve cut out all sweets, I only have fresh fruit when I have a sweet craving. I drink half my body weight or more in ounces of water each day. I’ve also cut back on my carb intake...all while counting calories. No results. I was getting very frustrated, especially when I see people close to me who give up desserts and lose 30lbs. I’ve been to the doctor and everything is normal so I don’t know why I’m having such a hard time. I’ve lost one pound so far and probably no inches,

This is really the first time I’ve ever dieted and hardcore exercised, so maybe it takes longer? I’ve been at this for 2 months. However, I was smaller back in October and that’s when I was only strength training. No diet, no cardio. I don’t get it. That’s why I added all this extra stuff and started dieting, because I wasn’t seeing any changes.

Sorry, this kind of turned into a bit of a vent. I’m just so frustrated with my body. I really don’t like being at this weight and looking like I have a beer gut. Has anyone here had success with Alexa Jean fitness programs?

I haven’t used that program but I’ve been doing T-25 by beach body. I lost 20 pounds doing it after my son was born. Now I’m dieting and doing the workouts to lose the gut. I’ve seen improvements within 1 month. Consistency is key to any workout program. Good luck!

You said you're counting calories, but make sure you're eating enough. If you're walking/running and strength training, that requires a lot of fuel. If you're not eating enough, you won't lose weight because your body will hold onto the existing fuel it has if it's afraid it won't be getting enough. Also, if you're lifting, make sure you're eating enough carbs to sustain your lifting. Your muscles use glycogen when you lift , and without going into super scientific detail, is made in the body when you consume carbohydrates. Additionally, make sure you're getting enough sleep and try to control stress. Those can also affect weight loss!

Also, try to focus more on changes in your body rather than weight loss. Take progress pictures and weigh yourself occasionally. Since you are lifting, there can be a lot of changes that aren't relefected by weight. I haven't weighed myself in 4 years!

Thanks Chantelle! That’s super helpful. 😊 I was worried I wasn’t eating enough, because sometimes I’m so hungry!

My best friend gave me this program so I got it for free! 😅 I think you usually have to pay for it. The workouts are short but hard so I’m going to try to stick with them and hopefully I’ll see results in a few months

Hey there! I can't comment on Alexa Jean specifically, but I wanted to throw in my two cents here. Smiley laugh

Chantelle makes several great points- if you're working out, you need to be eating right! And a big part of that is eating enough! Also, step away from the scale. It can be disheartening to not see any change if you weigh yourself every couple of days- cut down to once a week!

As far as soreness, that's great! If you're not sore, you aren't working your muscles enough to make a change. Smiley winking

Last point, which it seems like you understand but I want to reiterate: building muscle is going to make you leaner, not massive. Focus on getting strong, not skinny! Smiley heart You can do it!

If you are doing hardcore exercising you may not be eating enough. Try using an app that allows you to put in what exercise you do along with the food you eat. When I was doing that I realized on days I was exercising I was not getting enough calories which was hurting my progress.

Thanks Chris! I agree, weighing myself multiple times a week isn’t helpful at all and plus my weight fluctuates throughout the day. I’m going to try to focus on just being healthy and getting strong 💪🏻

I have MyFitnessPal, but not the premium version. It’s great for cardio exercises but it doesn’t count calories burned for strength training.
