Alfred Angelo Closing? UPDATED - THEY ARE CLOSED!

After seeing some horrible posts in my groups I just want to remind brides here that while this absoluetely SUCKS, this is not the employee's fault. Please do not scream or take out your stress on them - they had no idea they were losing their jobs today and I'm sure they don't need people yelling at them to make matters worse.

Just passing that along. Hope everyone here gets what they need sorted out.

If it helps, I got some amazing dresses on Amazon (shipped in two days) for my girls for $32. Amazon sells some of the same dresses as Azazie too for less.

I was between an AA dress and a Mori Lee dress for my bridesmaids and let me just say I am so so happy that I went with Mori Lee! I agree with the previous poster. Please be calm and polite to these employees. I'm sure they're stressing just as much if not more than their customers are.

It is absolutely not the employee's faults!

Also, good luck trying to file any sort of lawsuit if they are in fact filing bankruptcy. I feel awful for the brides having to deal with this.

Wow, that's crazy. I couldn't find any news stories saying they were closing and their website says "sale" extended. That's the same thing Limited did before they closed, acted like it was a sale when they really were trying to get rid of everything because they were closing. I wonder if it would be worth it to buy a dress off the rack?...

I already bought my dress, but still need a veil, so I might go check them out tonight. At this point, they're probably giving dresses and accessories away.

Yep, it's true. They're closing tonight. I just went there to try to track down my dress. Supposedly the seamstress has it. Let's pray for a miracle that she returns my phone calls! This is every bride's nightmare. Let's hope word gets out so that people can pick up their dresses or give the money back. This is so unfortunate!!

My FSIL wants to know if you can still order online or are they totally done forever? She loves the Snow White dress but she still has 2 years until her wedding

A colleague of mine just called as her sister put a down payment on a dress. They told her she would have to get her money from the trustees and that they were closing today. She just ordered her dress at the store a week ago.

MOH just got these for $15!

Bumping. This is true, I just made a rant post about it. The corporate part of the company has been extremely unprofessional about it and has kept retail workers in the dark, along with customers.

From what I am reading, employees came in today to a email stating that today was their last day open. All of the wedding FB groups that I am in are going crazy right now.

It's so weird though, I went online to try and confirm it and it seems that Alfred Angelo themselves haven't posted a single bit of information on the closure.

I feel for those that purchased dresses there, it sounds like they are handling the situation pretty poorly.

Just called the store in Riverside CA, as they still have my dress for alterations and Heidi there confirmed they are closing today at 6PM! OMG.. i am freaking out!!!

Thank you wedding wire for posting about this! Because of another thread I called my store and was told that I needed to come in ASAP if i wanted to pick up my dress (it came in last week).

Everything in the stores is 50% off... but cash or check only! I'm so mad that I don't carry cash on me, cause I really wanted some accessories!! (Just thought I had more time to buy!)

And like @Kelsey said (that's my name too), the associates were not aware. Many were hiding their tears in the back room and frantically calling around looking for other job opportunities. And they were still so helpful and considerate! I'm so sad for all of them! I loved their dresses and had such a great experience with my dress shopping!

A few weeks ago they announced they were pulling alterations from their stores. Today they announced that at 8:00pm all stores are closed for good. I considered looking here for a dress since I live 5 minutes from one of their stores. Good thing I didn't

Yes I went to the store today when they opened and they said all of AA stores are closing tonight. They filed bankruptcy. There are hundreds of brides in my group freaking out right now. I have three dresses paid for that I have no idea if I'll ever see... The only information they could give me was the lawyer's phone/email.

This is the weirdest thing especially considering AA is a huge brand AND they are the brand with a disney contract....

@Jessica I have three dresses out there too, are they saying we won't get the dresses but we will get a refund? My store didn't tell me much and I don't know who the trustee is if you don't mind sharing??
