Lav, on February 24, 2021 at 6:53 PM Posted in Planning 0 15
Has anyone used AliExpress or Wish to buy wedding items/decorations? They are pretty cheap and I love cheap stuff lol

I've never bought anything from either of them, but from what I've heard, you get what you pay for. The prices are cheap because the craftsmanship is cheap.

Avoid both of these at all costs. They are both based out of China which is notorious for taking your money (plus overseas duty charges) and never giving you what you want, if it even arrives.

Shop at Dollar Tree or Walmart if you want to save money.

I would highly suggest not to buy from both. Michaels has great deals right now. Amazon is a great resource. Hobby lobby. Deoening on what you want but yeah. No to wish

I was curious too, and on the hunt for a specific fiesta prop for my bachelorette party, so I gave Wish a try. The box got delayed twice and arrived almost 5months later... pretty beat up. This was triple the estimated time, so I guess it was good the party was covid-cancelled! 😂. The contents were as expected (but I only ordered cheap party items).
Depending on your need it could be ok, but I definitely wouldn’t order anything expensive or important.

Gotcha! Thank you for let me know your experience. Since my wedding will take more than a year, AliExpress and Wish would be my options right now... but not for important items. Tks

I wouldn't order anything from either of these companies. Take a look at the BBB reviews. Stay away!!

It may seem cheap but I just read on a group I’m in of another person having to pay customs and go pick up the items versus them being delivered to their residence.

No, for two reasons. 1. Because of the situation we are in, businesses are hurting and need as much revenue as possible, using local businesses is important, you have the option to what is available, see it touch it and envision it. 2. Alibaba and those companies may not send you the correct item, they may be broken upon arrival and delayed through China. You have no control of your purchase.
