Aliexpress!?!

Yes! @mna just recently posted her experience. See if you can use the search bar to find it. She used Aliexpress in the post and i think in the title too. She loved her dress.

My sister and I bought quite a few things from Aliexpress. She normally buys clothing, whereas I buy home goods. It's similar to eBay, check their ratings and the comments. Also, if you are planning to buy clothing, know your measurements in both inches and centimeters as well as add a couple more inches/centimeters into it to be safe.

What is it that you are thinking of buying?

I bought my wedding gown from there and it was a disaster!!!!! The vendor had pretty good ratings. I costed me $113 to ship to back to them and I only paid $225 for the dress, ugh!!!! However, I've purchased flowers and they were great. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar experience.

I love the dress, but they definitely didn't quite get the measurements right (it was custom measurements, rather than a standard size). I think if I had only requested a specific length rather than all custom measurements, and hadn't needed way more support in the busy, it would have been perfect. As it is, it will cost me WAY more in alterations to have the boning replaced than it is worth, so I'm sticking with my DB dress. The seller was Everlasting Love Dresses. Here's the AE dress:

I ordered 4 veils that were all $1-10 because I wasn't sure if I actually wanted to wear a veil. Only 2 actually arrived and they were both like mosquito nets glued to a cheap plastic comb. Just remember that you often get what you pay for!

@Gonefishes: unfortunately, that was WITH a longline bra/bustier underneath. The DB dress doesn't need it. For me to get a better bra is in the $200-$250 range because of my bra size. X(

I bought my dress on that site and I love it!!!! it fits perfectly and i couldnt be happier!!1 I only paid $35!! Its a designer dress by Sophia Tulle and prettier than the picture!

I've had wins and fails. I ordered a couple bathing suits (Normally a size Lrg. Ordered XXL to be safe) and it was way to small. Clothing is scary. Although one bathing suit I just got yesterday fits perfectly. Just depends on the supplier. I also ordered some makeup bags and misc stuff and had a great experience!

I bought a regular dress once there and it was very poor quality and very inaccurate measurements. I wouldn't trust them for my big day based on that experience.

As a seamstress, I have had 2 bridesmaids order online, overseas shipments, not sure if this is the site they used. With both dresses the sizes were extremely small resulting in a dress that cost more in the long run due to the alterations cost. If using this site, proceed carefully and order larger than you would normally.

Hemming is by far less expensive than bodice redesign.

I've not ordered anything for my wedding off aliexpress, but things I've ordered in the past have been pretty hit or miss. I just check seller reviews, and I also never buy the lowest of the low of that item. I aim for cheaper than what I'd find in the states, but still reasonable. That usually helps me avoid disasters. I wouldn't trust them for any garments on my big day.
