All Inclusive Honeymoon with Expedia

Ashli, on December 5, 2016 at 2:34 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 10

This might be a dumb question, but I have never booked an all inclusive vacation with Expedia before. Just wondering if anyone else has? Are there any hidden fees or is the price they give you including everything? I just do not want to book through them then find out when I get there that everything isn't included.

The price includes EVERYTHING. I also added transportation from airport. You can also book excursions. The resort might put a hold on your account but its released when you check out.

Things like spas and excursions are extra.

Thanks, y'all! I have found some pretty good deals, but just wanted to make sure first!

Everything is included, but I strongly urge you to book through the actual hotel's website. I've worked in hotels for 7 years and have seen repeated horror stories. The hotel has absolutely no way to change your reservation, so if your booked into a room you don't like, you have to call Expedia. Hotels also can't upgrade Expedia reservations because the system won't allow them to change it. Don't even get me started on their customer service.

It's just my advice to stay away, but you can make your own decision. Try shopping around a little bit. You can even use Expedia to find hotels in the area, then look up the hotel's website.

My only thing with Expedia is that it's cheaper to book the hotel and flight together. If the actual hotel offered that I would for sure book with them! We are not settled on any certain one, but have looked at Iberostar in a couple countries and the Princess ones.

@Ashli it depends on the hotel. Some do have packages or give incentives to book through them. Maybe call the hotel to see what they recommend.

I agree with @therightlane. I understand that it is cheaper to bundle, but the only thing that is guaranteed at the hotel is that you HAVE a room. You could get a smoking room, a room with one twin bed, a room with one double bed, or any other myriad of things. If you're doing a solo trip, third parties are fine. But for a romantic honeymoon, I wouldn't use a third party. Plus, if you call the hotel directly or book through them and let them know it's your honeymoon, you're more likely to get a view, an upgrade, or any other little upgrades. I've been in hotels for 13 years, and Expedia really is a pain to work with if you need to change anything.

Okay, I will look more into booking with the hotels. We book with Expedia for overnight stays when we have to travel for work. This is why I asked because I have never booked with them for stays longer than like 2 nights.

Iberostar (I'm a club member there) is tricky booking through Expedia because some of the rooms aren't listed on Expedia. I'd find out what the flights are in Expedia's package, then go directly to that airline's website. Also, use Google flights to find better flight deals.

Additionally, Iberostar will give a discount if you book directly through their website, and sometimes they have sales (sign up for their emails).
