All-inclusive US Virgin Islands?!?!???

Rene, on May 4, 2017 at 7:23 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 12

Hey ladies! Ok so I'm going cray over here trying to figure out where to even begin to look to book a honeymoon. Smiley sad I'm totally lost because I've never had to book vacation spots or anything. The FH and I have decided we really want to go to US Virgin Islands but where do I begin?!? What website do I try?!? I don't really want to use a travel agent.

Give me some guidance please!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want truly all inclusive, USVI is not the place to go. There is only one AI resort there. I believe it is on St John but can't remember.

Start with Trip Advisor. Reviews there are usually very candid. Posters also include their own pics - so you'll be able to see actual resorts/hotels instead of marketing/photoshopped pictures. Other sites I use is Travelocity.com (you can set a wish list and they'll notify you when flight prices go up or down). Once you find a hotel, go to that hotel's website and check prices there (sometimes they are cheaper if you reserve directly from the hotel). Same thing applies for flights.

Just google all inclusive resorts. Lots will pop up, I don't know where you want to go.

You can also use cheapcaribbean.com, we have booked 2 of our vacations off there including airfare & transportation to & from hotel.

If you want to do the Virgin Islands I would suggest a cruise. Although not truly all inclusive (doesn't include alcohol but you can purchase open bar packages) it does include all your meals, room and transportation

First of all, why the USVI? It's a lovely area, but it's not known for all inclusives. Bolongo Bay is the only one I am aware of, and it isn't a true all-inclusive. They sell a meal package that you can buy in addition to your room costs. If you want an AI, go elsewhere. If you want USVI, scrap the AI idea.

Second, why are you opposed to working with a travel agent? It is their whole career to know these things. Why not put that knowledge to use for you? They can typically do a price match or even a price beat on anything you could find elsewhere. And the big online stores like expedia and cheapcaribbean are travel agencies themselves--just ones where you don't get personalized service.

A travel agent can help too! And they shouldn't charge you for their services because they get paid by the vendors.

Are you 100% set on the Virgin Islands? I have never been, but could help you with other island recommendations

I liked the USVI when I went, but I've liked other places the same also. Cancun was a blast, Bahamas was also fun, and Jamaica hit FHs list of where to go. There are AIs in all of those places and fairly affordable.
