All male bridal party and groomsman attire

Katie, on August 3, 2021 at 4:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Hello!

I'm at an impass of "googling" trying to find inspiration and need some opinions! My bridal party is all men (my 3 brothers) and my FH will have 4 groomsmen. The obvious choice is I can put them all in black tuxes and give them different colored bowties and vests (what I'm leaning towards in my frustration). I would like there to be that distinction between bride and groom side though (that you get with bridesmaids). I thought of white jackets for my brothers, but my fiance wants just me in white. And navy and grey clash with our color scheme. My FH will be in a burgundy tux with black lapels. I've printed out pictures and put them on a board to try and visualize what the parties would look like in pictures, since I haven't found a single photo on the internet! 🙈
Has anyone been to a wedding or had a wedding that was all male? And what was done to distinguish the sides? Or did it not really matter and different bowties and vests will be enough?
I appreciate all of you! Smiley smile

I think different color ties will be enough. But you can also have one side in bow ties and the other in neck ties. Or one side in vests and the other in jackets.

My brother was my Man of Honor and florist did his boutonnière more full of peach and white flowers, while the groomsmen wore a single white calla lily for their boutonnières. 🌸

I like Jasmine's idea of having one side do bow ties and the other side do neck ties, or one side with vests and the other with jackets. That would help them stand apart from each other a bit more than just different colored ties but you also wouldn't have to worry about completely different colored suits.

I've seen mixed parties, where the groomsman on the ladies side is wearing a suit of the same colour as the bridesmaids, and I thought it looked really cool:

I know you have all men, but could you have them in totally different coloured suits, just to show they're from 'your' side?

You mentioned that navy and gray would clash — what’s the rest of your color scheme?

I would probably make it simple and do different colored ties and then different boutonnieres.

We had no bridesmaids and three groomsmen so our entire wedding party was male. We didn't do a bunch of wedding party photos though, largely because of the discrepancy. The groomsmen all wore the exact same suit, shirt, and tie as my husband but my husband had a 3-piece suit, while the groomsmen had 2-piece suits, and my husband's boutonniere was different.

My husband was the best man in a wedding that had a bridesman of honor. All of the men wore the same tuxes, but the bride's male attendants wore a different color bowtie and pocket square to distinguish them from the groomsmen. The colors were black, burgundy, and white, so one side had white ties and pocket squares and the other side had burgundy. The bride was in white and the tuxes were black.

I think similar colored suits with different colored accessories/accents will be enough to distinguish between the sides. If you want a bigger splash of color than just ties, pocket squares, and boutonnieres, consider having the guys wear a three piece suit with different colored vests.
