All the hype

Finally, someone wants to marry me. I’m 40, never been married, and have always dreamed of this day. But now that the planning for MY wedding is unfolding, I’m not feeling that excitement. Instead, I’m feeling dreadful about all the extra money everything costs. Is this day worth all the hype?

Yes! This house means so much to us so as much as it may be cheaper we are willing to cut costs in other areas to have it here 💖🥰

So I've been married for a year and a half. We eloped for the legal part, had a micro-ceremony and luncheon at home for our first anniversary, and we're just now having the big reception next weekend. To be honest, I regret doing the big party. Maybe I'll feel differently once it's happened, but right now, I kind of wish we'd left it at the micro-ceremony and luncheon. I'll say this though, I've learned through this that it's definitely not an all or nothing thing. My sister in law is doing a 50-person buffet catered by a friend. There are so many different options out there if you want to do something but don't want to go absolutely all out. So many people will have opinions no matter what you do, but at the end of the day it's about you and your future spouse, and it should be true to what you both want.
