Allergies, food sensitivities and dietary restriction.

When did you ask about any dietary concerns your guests may have. I thought about having it printed on the back of the STD cards and asking people to email us. I certainly don't want any allergic reactions. Do caterers carry epi pens? We will be easily 30 min from any big town. Is there a place...

Is there a place guests could communicate this information on your website?

I will ask for dietary restrictions on my RSVP cards. My buffet menu is set but special diet meals will need to be pre-ordered when are numbers are due to the caterer.

as an allergy sufferer, I will say I appreciate your concern but in general I know this is on me. I’ve actually never come across an rsvp before that has this, and Typically I just make a point to consult the wait staff as soon as I’m seated to verify meal choices etc. If I am VERY concerned (like read a venue’s menu ahead of time and it is very allergen heavy), I reach out to the hosts ahead of time to make sure I can be accommodated. I also always carry an epi pen, again, that’s on me

Right now the intention is serve just one thing at the reception with special meals for anyone who needs it. To have something on the RSVP like, "We'll be celebrating with a classic low country boil! Please list any food restrictions so we can assure you're able to celebrate with us."

We asked on the RSVP. I already knew that my MOH was coeliac, and had flagged that with the venue right from the very start. Given that we had a buffet we made sure she got her food early (which was fine, bridal party got food first) to avoid any issues with cross-contamination, because people don't always think before they use a spoon from one dressing in another one. We had one other person who didn't eat red meat or fish, which was fine because we were always going to include chicken as one of the options.

We are including a space on the RSVP, accommodating the existing dietary needs we know about, and working with our caterer to make sure everything is clearly labelled with ingredients and if it is gluten free, etc.
