"Almost Married" party?

Melissa, on July 4, 2021 at 3:07 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 5

My fiancé and I got engaged in September of 2020. We had planned on getting married this September but decided to push it to September of 2022 because COVID restrictions were still in place when we had to make our decision. COVID restrictions are finally letting up and my family wants to throw us an engagement party around the time that we'll have been engaged for 1 year. I think that ship has sailed but what about an "almost married" themed celebration? I love the idea of having family around for a day to celebrate us, especially since we couldn't do that prior due to COVID. Thoughts????

I think that sounds fun. Maybe I'd say like..."half way there party!" since it'll be about half-way from engagement to wedding.

My cousin's son got engaged just as COVID hit and she's throwing them an engagement party in September and no one thinks it's strange. COVID changed everything. Have a party, call it whatever you want, just enjoy yourselves!
