Alterations Help 1

Alterations Help 2
I bought my wedding dress recently but I am a little worried about getting it altered. My bust and waist are 16 but my hips are 24. That's a 4 size difference! Also, I've already lost some weight. Is it even possible for the dress to be taken in that much at the top? The consultant assured me that it can but my dress has a lot of lace on top.

I have a similar issue with my dress and they also assured me that it could be done. For me, they’ll need to take the bust in 2-3 sizes. I’ve been reading that a lot of times that isn’t possible but they assured me it was so fingers crossed! I assume this is a common problem they deal with so I’m sure there’s a way to do it even with the lace

It can be done - but it’s going to be a lot of work and probably fairly expensive. The reason why it’ll be more work than normal is because of the illusion back on the dress. That type of dress doesn’t have a typical seam that can be easily the taken in, they'll have to remove the lace appliqués, etc. But, don’t freak yet - Just make sure you find an alterations person that you trust to do such extensive work.

Yes, it can be done with no worries... you will not even be able to tell Smiley smile does your alteration have a cap on the price?

Thank you. The place says that alterations are usually from 300 to 700. I am willing to pay that if I am sure everything will be done properly.

My dress was similar to yours. My boobs were a size 14 and my hips were a 4. It was able to be altered with no issues.

In my opinion the bodice (boob area) will be compromised with alterations. There’s a pattern on top that will most likely have seams. My dress isn’t this style but she told me we should not take bust in much and it was easier with my designer to let out the waist. I have to lose 2 inches at waist not to alter significantly. I’ve lost an inch and I’m trying for the rest. If they take in boob area you won’t have the side panel. I think the dress will look good but will you still love it?
