Alterations

Sheryl, on July 23, 2021 at 4:16 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4

Hello,

I am found my perfect dress at Ever After Bridal in Binghamton NY. I am so excited for it to come in. However, they do not have an in house seamstress for alterations. The shop is great and recommended a bunch in NY. However, I live about 90 minutes away in PA. So if I could find someone more local that would be great.

Is it taboo to go to another wedding shop that you didn't purchase the dress for alterations? We have some local shops and a David's bridal.

I just want to make sure I go to someone who knows what they are doing with wedding dresses.

Personally, I'd do a Yelp search or ask in a local wedding FB group for recommendations. I found my seamstress through a FB group from countless recommendations by other brides.

This is a good idea. There are lots of tailors/seamstresses not affiliated with any bridal shop, and that's probably where your search will lead you.

I am a seamstress and am listed on Fash.com. You can put in what you need and other details, and seamstresses will contact you and SHOULD give you an estimate. You can check out their reviews, etc.
