Alterations.

Just got my back from my first fitting, my 7 point bustle came out to $280 and hemming is $500. I cannot believe alterations are close to $800!!!! I suppose the million layers in my skirt don’t help things. What did everyone else pay?

It's really up to you if you want them or not...

Mine was right around that same price. I didn't need anything altered for size, just length and bustle. I was sticker shocked with the price when she was explaining it to me...

Mine was $432 (at David's Bridal). That was to take in the sides and hip areas (I had to order a size larger for my bust), shorten it (she said this was the set price for my gown), and do a three point over bustle for the top lace layer, then an eleven point ballroom bustle for the lower, satin-y layer.

My dress has several layers too (lace, the satin-y layer, then netting underneath for some poof) so I thought it would be around that range. It's crazy to think the dress itself only cost $200 more than the alterations. The alterations are definitely something that can increase the cost quickly
