Altering the bust of low-back dress

So this is my wedding dress, it’s the Willowby by Watters Maudie gown. So if you can see in the picture the bust has a gap and doesn’t lay flat and I’m worried about alterations.

of course when I tried it on it wasn’t my size, it didn’t fit properly, and was clipped all crazy.
But we ordered the dress a size larger than my bust size because of my wider hips and I’m concerned about having the bust taken in because the back is lower and I know that you lose a lot of support with a low back. When I bought the dress I had a strapless bra on and I haven’t been able to find a low back strapless bra that holds me up, doesn’t gap, or doesn’t give me back fat. The dress does have boning and I’m probably going to have cups sewn in since I haven’t had any luck with bras.
I’m just worried that even after having the bust taken in it’ll still gap or won’t lay flat and I was just wondering if anyone has any pictures of their strapless dress or similarly styled dress after that kind of alteration or can give me any advice on what to ask the seamstress. I’m a 36C for reference.
I get my dress in October and take it for alterations in November and I’m just too anxious to wait until then to find out if it’ll turn out well.

Ok so I just went to see how low the back is. It is quite low, but not so low that you couldn't get a longline, low back strapless bra to wear underneath if you're concerned about support...

    this article makes some suggestions

Yes the back is pretty low! Thankfully I have a pretty short torso so it’s not too bad on me I don’t think.

I tried on a strapless low back bra at David’s bridal, but it was giving me back fat problems so I figured maybe just sewing in cups might help.

Yes, I think cups should help. And just to clarify, the back is gorgeous - not TOO low or anything, I just meant it's quite low to find a bra that will offer support, haha!

Your dress is gorgeous, and I’m here to attest that a good seamstress can really work magic! I had to order up 2 sizes from my bust measurement to accommodate my hips, but by the time my seamstress was finished (taking it in and sewing in cups) it fit like a glove and I was securely locked in all night — no gapping or drooping at all.

The back of my dress wasn’t quite as low as yours, but it was still well below where a normal bra would’ve hit if I’d needed one. Altering the bust of low-back dress 7

The seamstress will probably just take the fabric from the seam on the sides/ front. The back of your dress won't have anything to do with your boobage area Smiley smile
