Alternative Garter Toss Ideas Needed

I know it's not something that is being done as much but I have an alternative for the bouquet toss that includes all of the female guests attending the reception. I'm looking for alternatives for the guys to participate in. What kind of things are you thinking about or have seen?

I read about this beautiful alternative to the bouquet toss, and it's more of a bouquet giveaway. It's where you have all the married couples dance on the floor. Then the DJ asks couples that have been married less than a day to sit down, and so the bride and groom would sit down. Then the DJ counts the time up to multiple years, and the longest standing couple gets the bouquet.
I love that idea and plan to do this!

This is a great idea! I bought a beautiful bouquet for the "toss" and am having second thoughts about it. I definitely don't want to do the garter toss. His 13 year old son and my parents will be there. Too creepy to me. I will talk to FH and see if he likes this idea!

Did you still want to do a garter game?
What about putting the garter around a ball or stuffed animal and having the men pass it around while a song plays. When the song stops the person with it, wins it.

An alternative to the garter all together:
Have 2 cages. One for your bouquet and another for the grooms tie. Then both men and women would try their keys at the same time. Essentially it would involved ALL guests at the same time!

    Thanks for the suggestions!

I find it really unhelpful when ppl just comment "skip it" or give a long explanation for why you shouldn't do it. If someone posed a question, then they probably want to do it. If people don't appreciate others telling them how to have their wedding, then let's not have it in this forum.

For my wedding, I’m considering doing the bouquet toss for all singles, men and women, because there are going to be significantly more unmarried men. And we aren’t doing the traditional garter toss partly because my FH has never heard of it before and thought it was weird, and it’s not a common tradition in Mexico.

Maybe you could have all the guys do musical chairs and the winner gets a prize? Much easier for guys to do since they aren’t in dresses. Could be fun or horrible depending on the mood and the age of the guys though...

I’m doing this as well - it’s typically called the anniversary dance. I’m then giving them a bottle of champagne. You could give the bouquet to the woman and have the groom pin his boutineer on the man.

I personally don’t like the idea of a garter because it is a little too “sexy” and personal for me - and some of my friends have said it can get really sweaty lol but I do love the idea of the groom having something to give away like the bride.
