Alternative King's Table?

Malia, on October 6, 2021 at 6:58 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 2

Hey, y'all - I'm thinking through wedding party seating at the moment, and while I was originally considering a head table, I'm now thinking I may do a king's table to seat FH and I, our wedding party, and our immediate families (all siblings will already be in the wedding party). However, I've heard that king's tables can make it difficult for photographers to get great photos of the bride and groom. Have any of y'all done a king's table (or seen one) with nobody sitting in front of the bride and groom? It would basically look like an 8-person long table on either side of a sweetheart table, except it would just be one long table. I feel like that would give the photographer a good view of the both of us, but I'm wondering if it may look awkward? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

That’s exactly what we did two weeks ago for our wedding. We did a head table with our wedding party plus their significant others, and left the two spaces in front of us open so we could look out at all our guests and see anyone giving speeches more easily as well. It was perfect, highly recommend. I’ll hunt for a photo to see if I have one!
