My mother does not want to referred to as the Mother of the Bride, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for alternative names. This is especially true as we are getting our names embroidered on robes for the wedding day.

I don't know. Pictures from your wedding day could potentially be shown to your grandchildren 50 years from now. I wouldn't use any cute nicknames at all. And I don't think minions is cute by the way. Makes it sound like they're your slaves.

I know this post is from 2017 but I just stumbled upon it for asking the same question and wanted to share. Firstly, I am so sorry some of these people were just on attack mode and just want you to know you/your mom are not alone lol. My mom is the same way, she would like a different name as she feels "Mother of the Bride" sounds too old/formal. We are calling her the "Mom of Honor".
