alternative to chargers?

Melissa, on May 12, 2013 at 6:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

Do any of you lovely ladies have any ideas for a charger plate alternative? We are doing a rustic wedding reception in a barn in october - and our colors are plum purple and burnt orange. We are doing mason jars with floating candles decorated with burlap and lace. We are also doing burlap runners. I can't afford charger plates and was trying to figure out a low cost option. Any ideas?

I've seen ppl use wood slices. Not sure how much money this would save, though.

I think FH and I will skip them altogether. our wedding will be semi-rustic, and we're doing a buffet, so I don't think anyone will notice.

I have seen people use burlap and doilies, also patterned cardstock. But honestly, if you are trying to save money, I would skip the chargers all together. I am skipping them (we are doing a buffet) and using a napkin with a tucked menu placed where the plate would usually be placed.

What if you just put a colored cloth napkin folded where the charger would be placed. I saw this recently on Pinterest and it added some color to the table and looked very nice.
